@TheZeroPercent You're no longer the 0% as I agree with what you're saying 100%. Gimmicky systems far inferior to ps and xbox and it's unfortunate that Zelda is still with Nintendo. Zelda never had the opportunity to grow up along with its fan base, so you're left debating with these childish Nintendo crotch riders who have no idea how sales work. Created this account just to post on this article because it's people like that who are the reason why you have the under performing, prototypical Nintendo copy and paste skyward sword graphics. I dream everyday of having graphics on Zelda like Witcher 3 so I can reconnect with my favorite video game character of all time without playing a cartoon game in this age of crazy improved graphics.

Regardless, another delay on a game that is actively outdating itself - very embarassing. They've been dragging real Zelda fans through the Gerudo desert for a long time now and this is just a slap in the face. Refuse to continue to buy Nintendo's beat systems for one game that has consistently been delivering less on these games for years now. Everything is selling an idea with Nintendo trying to be innovative. Don't even get me started on these OOT and MM remakes we've been waiting for nearly all of our lives for on USELESS handhelds. I'd like to put my 70' tv to use and not strain my eyes? What a waste of money for these games - guess I'll just keep my damn game cube around forever to play a game that revolutionized just about all of RPG gaming. Nintendo spits on their own games.

It's ridiculous that this game not only doesn't use the GamePad in any interesting way, but doesn't require it at all. Why in the FUСK did Nintendo make a console with a tablet in the first place?? Dumbbell idiots.

Lots of potential there in this game. Going to really need a follow through. I'm glad I have a Wii U, as Nintendo hasn't filled me with confidence to get a NX as of yet.

Man, I don't even know why but the game I want to play the most that's been shown at E3 is this game.

Damn it sucks it's delayed to 2017.

@TheZeroPercent: Twilight Princess might be one of the ugliest games of all time considering it's time frame. Doesn't hold up at all. Not saying a more realistic style can't work with Zelda, just that the Wii and Gamecube wasn't the time after the beauty of Wind Waker.

@drnatedogg: Totally disagree. To me TP is still the most beautiful Zelda game to date. In terms of polygons the game still looks a little rough of course, but so does nearly every game from that era. The Zelda tech demo for Wii U using updated TP graphics could have looked phenomenal as a full game, but Nintendo had to be Nintendo and go in this direction again...

@Derpalon: You say TP is the most beautiful and its because of the era it was made that gave its set back..but windwaker was also made in that era but it still holds up.every game will be out dated sooner or later but we need games that will stand the test of time..just like in gameplay ideas do, so as graphics..one day we are gonna look at horizon:zero dawn and say "damn, those were the graphics we're craving for?"this direction is the best and smartest graphic direction Nintendo will use..it's to help them realized the game's atmosphere that realistic graphic will not attain.this is not step back but a different direction..a step back is reduction of polygon count and effects.

@TheZeroPercent: I disagree, this game wouldn't be possible if it tried to look "real." Also the last thing we need is another grimy game(its really not that realistic).

Also, they never changed the design, you are talking about a tech demo, that was never supposed to be Zelda U...

@ArabrockermanX: True its atmosphere and direction with a realistic feel would feel inconsistent and crony and all round bad.

@TheZeroPercent: Hows Nintendo "drowing in the past" with this?

Video games is an art form..just like every other art form(music, movies) they are different styles to attain the realization of the creator.

This graphic style works for the world the game is trying to convey.

Where in the world did they say all games must look realistic?

Art has photorealism, abstract etc so why not videogames

Okay, great, its not your thing..maybe you don't understand it(it seems more like that) but dont say its gone the wrong direction..its going in a direction to creator feels his game can be fully realised.

@TheZeroPercent: So what's the future?realistic graphics?lol dude..they change their gameplay..adding new mechanic that change the overall structure of the norms we usually get in pervious entries.the reason why it sold less than expectation is simple..people wanted a difference in gameplay(overall mechanics) that's why god of war need change..thats why assassins creed is on hold for a year(they didn't change their direction or art style but they want to change their gameplay structure)..thats why cod is on blast.this game is a reinvention..the use of old(zelda1) and mix with the new...and you really haven't been reading the news on the impression this game has left on people during E3.

Like I said, its not your thing, but it works well to keep it fresh and feel very new.

@TheZeroPercent: I have noticed that you skipped TP ,and went for SS and WW as example of LOZ "step back" when these three games fundamentally play alike.this has lead me to believe that you major gripe with these two games in the series is more graphics direction issue for you.as these two games seem to share similar(not really) art direction.am I right?

--it is just a fact
--the art style they chose for skyward sword was a HUGE step backwards
--until that game
--all of the zeldas made progression to become more 'realistic'
--yes
--Zelda should be more realistic
--why?
--because that is what gamers purchase
--is Nintendo in the business of making art with pure conviction and integrity?
--if so
--why did they dump wiiU on it's head
--it was full of unique artistic potential

--nitnedop is trying to make as much impact on the market as possible
--and ZeldaU looks like a game from 5-10 years ago

@TheZeroPercent: How is picking an art style a step back?when has it been written anywhere in the world that games should have a realistic look?so I am correct..you are basing it on graphics not gameplay, where as you can see the failure(as you presume) is based on people getting tired of the same gameplay structure of the game not graphics...i dont how graphics like this is a step backwards.anyway there is nothing you would say to change the fact that this game will sell..so far they continue on this route, and then some..the impression this game gave was staggering positive.and again it will sell.simple

@TheZeroPercent: If being cartoony or realistic is going determine why you are not going to buy this game, that's you but for me and alot of people(the impression has been resoundingly positive) it will sell more than this figure you speak.i will not a simple thing like "it looks like an indie game"in which it doesnt,to deter me from having fun and experiencing something great.and please which game has done anything new now a days?dude this is a breath(see what I did there) of fresh air to this series.like I said a reinvention not a innovation.I dont know what more I need to say to you but hey if you don't want to buy, dont buy.

@TheZeroPercent: Sorry you interpreted my comment possessing an condescend tone but its not what I am gettin at..the reaction for this game has been more positive(way more) than negative.from the critics,to the booth attendance(there is a video of people running to play the game on the last day of E3).so that failure you speak of is impossible because they have been more people with positive reaction to this game..everyone wanted a skyrim, witcher kind of game, and it gave something of that manner with there own ideas infused, setting it apart...ill say it again the impression has been dramatically positive so far,and definitely it will sell, with already an install base of the wiiu in which are willing to buy and the hype of the NX and its release there..it will sell.

@h20-xcv: Pffffft, OK yeah I'm a bro, ok, sister. Rich huh? How much do you spend on a new wallet? I spent $200,000 on my Chanel purse just last month, and it was a real bargain. My parents owning over 8,000 apartment units gives us lots of money to spend all the time. Like an Imax private home theater for example; it's mine. But let me guess you recently purchased the whole world and everything in it, lol. Byeee
