Developer Says Destiny's Secret Room Is Just for Fun

Players who have been searching for hidden loot or new content in Destiny's recently discovered secret room have been looking in vain, according to a Bungie developer. Destiny game designer Luke Smith tweeted the following:

Oryx's Basketball Court is a secret room which can be found in The Taken King's raid, King's Fall. The room is unlocked using a specific light-based code. Players can "dunk" a relic into a statue inside the room... and that's it.

It should come as no surprise that room was expected to yield some new secrets, given that The Taken King expansion had introduced some hidden content, including a secret mission and secret raid shader.

The Taken King launched on September 15, breaking PlayStation download records and setting a new milestone for total players and peak online users, even beating out the launch of the base game in 2014.

Earlier today Bungie announced that microtransactions would be coming to Destiny, although it assured that the new purchasable content would not affect the game's action.
