Destiny will go offline for several hours on Thursday, developer Bungie has announced, due to back-end maintenance work.
Bungie said this "planned service outage" will help the studio pave the way for oncoming updates to the game. Servers are expected to go offline at 8am Pacific (4pm UK), with the issue hoped to be fixed after four hours. During this window, the game will be inaccessible.
"We know you’re anxiously waiting for all the good stuff we promised," said the game's community manager David Dague. "This is the beginning of that work."
Since its release in September, Destiny has been enhanced with numerous patches and content updates, unlocking the Vault of Glass raid, as well as the Queen's Wrath missions.
Destiny's first DLC pack, called The Dark Below, will launch from December 9 across Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360 and PS3. It comes at a premium cost: $20 in the US and £20 in the UK.
