Daisy Ridley is set to return as Rey in a new Star Wars movie, but like the rest of the world, she doesn't know much about it. Speaking to Deadline, Ridley said all she knows is "what was announced last year." All that was announced is that Ridley is coming back to play Rey in another Star Wars movie, with Oscar-winner Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy on board to direct.

Ridley has one theory, though. "I would say she probably doesn't have children seeing she's a Jedi," she said. It's understood that Jedi are not supposed to get married (bad boy Anakin didn't like this and married Padme anyway) but they could still have sex and have children. In theory at least.

In any event, Ridley said she knows "bits and bobs" of the story, adding that there is "an introduction of new characters" but she claimed she doesn't know about any returning characters beyond her own. However, she admitted, "I'm waiting to read a script."

Previously, Ridley said her next Star Wars film would go in a "different direction," but that could mean many things. "Once I knew what the story was and everything, I knew that it was something that I really wanted to do I think it's a really fantastic exploration of the Star Wars world," she said. "I loved making all three films and I'm very happy to get to do it again."

More recently, Ridley talked about how she didn't feel comfortable as Rey in Star Wars until 2019's The Rise of Skywalker.

Ridley's new Star Wars movie isn't coming anytime soon, though. The next Star Wars movie release is The Mandalorian & Grogu, which debuts in 2026. The Rey movie will come later.
