What to expect from Season 3 Reloaded

Season 3's midseason update adds another gun with the BAL-27 assault rifle returning from 2014's Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. Activision describes the BAL-27 as being "a prototype weapon designed to increase fire rate over time while the trigger is squeezed," with the gun's first four shots being slower to fire but highly accurate.

While additional details are not confirmed, the midseason updates usually bring new limited-time events, camo challenges, and sometimes even a big IP crossover.

Modern Warfare 3

Two more core 6v6 multiplayer maps arrive. Checkpoint is a map that repurposes one of Warzone's Rebirth Island POIs for multiplayer and Grime is themed as a graffitied part of London.

The new game modes are Escort and Minefield. Escort is an attack and defend mode, which is similar to Call of Duty's previous Payload mode. Minefield is a playlist variant that is played across a mix of game modes and turns each map into a literal minefield.

The update will also introduce two new items to equip for custom loadouts, with the EMD Mine tactical equipment and the Enhanced Vision Goggles field upgrade.

On the Zombies side, Season 3 Reloaded includes a new story mission, the third Dark Aether Rift quest, and more schematics to unlock. Rainmaker will be the season's new Warlord boss to fight.

Warzone

Rebirth Island was added with the launch of Season 3, and now the midseason update will add new variants of the map's Resurgence mode. Resurgence Loaded is a mode that takes away the need to scrounge for ground loot, as players will spawn into the match with their custom loadouts. Rebirth Lockdown works just like Warzone's past Vondel Lockdown mode, bringing Call of Duty's large-scale battle royale version of Hardpoint to Rebirth Island.

Season 3 Reloaded also includes new public events for Rebirth Island with Infil Strikes and Heavy Armor mode variants. With Infil Strikes, the start of each match has a chance for an Infil Strike event to happen; which will cause an airstrike to level one of three major POIs. This includes the destruction of the Lighthouse, Water Tower, or a collapse of Prison's rooftop. This changes the structural area of the POI and how players will need to navigate the affected area.

Heavy Armor is another random event that can be announced at the start of the match, and this event raises the maximum armor plates each player can equip from three to four. This means a player's maximum armor is increased from 150 to 200, slowing down the time-to-kill and altering the pace of the game.

Standard battle royale matches on Urzikstan and Vondel will feature a new Gulag public event. If the Climb and Punishment event is announced during a player's gulag, two escape ladders will drop, and they have the option to communicate with their opponent to secure a safe escape for both players or choose to still fight the 1v1.

Warzone Mobile

With Warzone Mobile's shared progression, Season 3's new BAL-27 will be included in the mobile version. The update includes the Buy Back Battle Royale variant mode for Verdansk, which closes the Gulag, and any dead teammates can be bought back if the players have enough cash to do so.

New events, Keep updates, and shop refreshers will also be included for Warzone Mobile.

Season 3 recently added the Blaze Up limited-time event, which lets players earn weed-themed cosmetics. The Cheech & Chong operator bundle also arrived in the shop, and the bundle includes a new tracer pack that turns enemies into joints.
