Capcom Is Remaking More Resident Evil Games

Which entry will be remade next?

Capcom has confirmed that it will be remaking more Resident Evil games, but it's not revealing which ones yet.

Speaking at a PlayStation partner awards event in Japan, Capcom's Yasuhiro Ampo was asked if more Resident Evil games were going to get remade in the same vein of Resident Evil 2, 3, and 4. "Yes, we’ve released three remakes so far and they have all been received very well," he said. "Since it allows a modern audience to play these games, it is something I am happy to do as someone that loves these older games, and we want to continue doing more."

Now Playing: How Resident Evil 4 SAVED Resident Evil

Ampo continued, "What game we will remake in the future is something that we would like to announce in the future, so please look forward to it." He also talked about how there's no way to know whether a remake will be critically well-received, but player feedback and opinions have been important in developing them.

While we don't know which Resident Evil game Capcom will remake next, some possibilities include Code Veronica or the original Resident Evil, as well as Resident Evil 0 or Resident Evil 5.

Resident Evil 4 remake was released in March and is nominated for Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2023. In GameSpot's Resident Evil 4 remake review, we said, "Capcom raises the bar for what a good remake is and simultaneously preserves Resident Evil 4's legacy as a genre-defining experience and one of the greatest games of all time."
