Black Panther 2's Tenoch Huerta Accused Of Sexual Assault, But He Denies It

Tenoch Nuerta calls "sexual predator" allegation "irresponsible and false."

Tenoch Huerta, who was most recently seen playing the villainous Namor in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, has responded to a sexual assault allegation from a musician he claims to have dated for "several months." Musician María Elena Ríos called Huerta a "sexual predator" in a tweet, translated from Spanish by Twitter. The tweet also notes "emotional abuse" and "abuse of power."

For his part, Huerta took to Instagram Stories to call the allegation "irresponsible and false." His statement reads, "About a year ago, I dated Elena for several months. It was entirely consensual at all times, as countless others can attest. And throughout it was a loving, warm and mutually supportive relationship. After it ended, however, Elena began to misrepresent our interactions both privately and in front of groups of mutual friends."

The actor continued, "As a result, a few months ago, I engaged a legal team to commence the appropriate actions to protect my reputation and refute these irresponsible and false accusations that can cause great prejudice and damage. Although I am by no means perfect, I know that these allegations are simply untrue. And while I will always work to improve myself, I need to contest claims that are both false and offensive."

Rounding out his statement, Huerta noted he was deeply grateful to "my family and the people who have supported me and greatly appreciate everyone who is willing to look at the facts and reflect before rushing to an untrue and unjust conclusion."

Huerta is the second MCU villain to come under fire recently. Jonathan Majors, who played Kang in Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, was arrested in March for an alleged domestic assault. Majors maintains his innocence.

Currently, Huerta has not been announced as reprising his role of Namor elsewhere in the MCU. Majors, on the other hand, is currently scheduled to be a major force in the Marvel film franchise, with an upcoming Avengers movie even bearing his character's name.
