Bella Ramsey has commented on Season 2 of HBO's The Last of Us, saying they feel "incredibly happy" with the casting announcements for the sophomore season.

As announced previously, Season 2 brings on Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, Young Mazino as Jesse, and Isabela Merced as Dina. "It's exciting for me. I'm happy to have a whole new bunch of people come and join the family. It's gonna be a lot of fun," Ramsey told GamesRadar+.

Also during the interview, Ramsey recalled meeting Dever for the first time. Ramsey and Dever were at a gala, and the two happened to meet waiting for their cars.

The two apparently didn't have the most in-depth conversation at the time, in part because Dever hadn't been officially cast as Abby at that point.

"I knew they were talking to her about casting at that point, so it was just sort of quietly like 'Hey' and shared numbers and stuff," Ramsey said. "She's excellent, Isabel and Young as well, I'm really excited to get going with all of them."

Season 2 is due to enter production in February, and despite breaking a limb, star Pedro Pascal (Joel) says he will be ready to go. Season 2 will release in 2025.

It's expected that Season 2 of The Last of Us will cover at least some of the events of The Last of Us: Part II the game, and fans are aware of all that entails. The show is expected to continue for a few more seasons, running between 3-5 seasons.

As for the game series, Naughty Dog recently cancelled The Last of Us Online but still has two new single-player games in the works.
