Batman: Arkham Studio Rocksteady Is Developing A Suicide Squad Game - Report
According to a recent report, sources say that Rocksteady's next project is based on the comic book franchise Suicide Squad.
It's been five years since Rocksteady's Batman: Arkham Knight emerged to mass acclaim, and the studio's long silence has led fans to speculate about what its next project might look like. According to a report from Eurogamer, we might finally have our answer. A cache of recently-registered domain names first spotted on ResetEra, including "SuicideSquadGame.com," indicate that Rocksteady is developing a game based on DC's Suicide Squad. Eurogamer has corroborated that this is the case According to Eurogamer, one domain may turn out to be the game's final title, and serves as a summary of the game's central idea: "SuicideSquadKillTheJusticeLeague.com."
The domain name "GothamKnightsGame.com" was also listed, which is reportedly a reference to a new Batman game under development at Warner Bros. Montreal. That studio is best-known for creating Batman: Arkham Origins back in 2013. Additional details about both of these projects may be revealed at Warner Bros. DC Fandome event in August. From what the report suggests, Gotham Knights is further along in development. Both of these projects are in-development for next-gen consoles.
Warner Bros. Montreal has continually teased some sort of Batman-related project for months now, with tweets going back to September 2019. This has led to some fans of the Arkham series to express displeasure at the lack of further announcements. That finally seems set to change later this summer.
