It's not a tease or announcement.

Baldur's Gate 3 director has revealed he finally figured out the first act of his next project. He also clarified that he isn't teasing or announcing anything.

"Been a great morning! After four months of rewriting and rewriting and abandoning ideas and then revisiting them, finally figured out what act 1 on this thing I've been working on needs to be," explained Larian Studios CEO Swen Vincke. "Quote me when it's revealed to see how much of today's draft survives. I suspect a lot."

Vincke mentioned that even if the first draft doesn't hold up in the final product, sometimes the work will recycle itself when the right story is found for it. Additionally, he said that his thoughts shouldn't be taken as Larian revealing its next game just yet and it'll be a while until then.

"Also--it's not what you think and this is not an teaser for an announcement. Just am genuinely excited about where this is going and wanted to share some of my excitement," he explained. "It'll be quite some time before we talk about this."

Right now, Larian Studios is riding on the success of Baldur's Gate 3 and still working some issues out, especially with the Xbox version's save issues and players being banned for accidentally uploading explicit material from its romance scenes.

In GameSpot's Baldur's Gate 3 review, we said, "Baldur's Gate 3 is a sprawling, dense RPG backed by fantastic characters, an excellent combat system, and an impressive co-op mode."

Baldur's Gate 3 won Game of the Year at the 2023's The Game Awards and it's also GameSpot's Game of the Year 2023.
