Bad Company 3, Mirror's Edge 2 spotted on resumes

Various LinkedIn profile pages indicate DICE may be at work on third entry in shooter franchise, sequel to 2008 free-running game.

Battlefield: Bad Company 3 and Mirror's Edge 2 have been spotted on various profile pages at professional networking site LinkedIn (tracked down by GamerZines), indicating DICE is possibly at work on sequels to its shooter and free-running franchises.

The Bad Company 3 reference comes from a user who said he "provided video game prototype, design, and demo feedback on various AAA titles including Battlefield: Bad Company 3, Dead Space 2, Devil May Cry 5, and other unannounced titles" between 2009 and 2011.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 shipped during March 2010, and to date, no mention has been made of a follow-up. A sequel to that title would not come as much of a surprise, as it won warm reviews upon launch, and sold nearly 6 million copies. A spin-off to the core Battlefield franchise, the Bad Company series launched in 2008 with the well-received original.

As for Mirror's Edge 2, the profile page of an ex-EA software engineer says he worked on that game between July and August 2009, creating the "wandering of crowd system within the Unreal 3 Engine." Yet another former EA employee's page says he built "new gadget and interactive features" for Mirror's Edge 2, as well as leaderboards and a minigame inside the Mirror's Edge story.

A sequel to Mirror's Edge has not been formally announced, but in June 2009, EA Games Europe vice president Patrick Soderlund confirmed a follow-up was in the works. At the time, he said, "You will see another Mirror's Edge for sure. It's just a matter of when that time is and what we do with it. We have a small team on it, and I'm excited about what we do."

An EA representative told GameSpot, "We do not comment on rumors or speculation."

I own BF3 and BC2 and choose to play BC2 do to,, So much camping and spawn camping in BF3 that i rather go play BC2

So, I finally caved bought BF3 a week ago...woops. Should have just stuck to my TF2, BFBC2, CS, and Day of Defeat. Hell, spending 60 bucks on hats and keys in TF2 would have been a much better decision. BC2 is just so much more fun, wish they would have just made a huge expansion for it or something instead of making that garbage.

bad company 2 had overall better designed maps than bf3, but bf3 is superior in almost all other aspects, especially the damage registry or hitbox or whatever is called, in bc2 you needed a full mag to kill a guy running sideways to you cause half the bullets you landed made blood come out but no damage, and of course the controls are much more responsive and better in bf3, but i played the pc port so that was expected.

I very much dislike EA, but they do own the rights to some good games including SSX which is hands down the greatest sports series ever (and ME too until they released that version with a three at the end).

I had a lot of fun with both the SP and the MP that came with Bad Company 2. I hope they do as good of a job with BC3 as they did with BC2...oh, and keep it off Origin!

whats cool is there are still people playing ranked games on BF:BC 1 on PSN.that game came out almost 5 years ago.I just hope it keeps the BC style and not switch to the BF style(Storyline,SP).

Well I loved Bad Company 1 and 2. However it will probably be more like BF3... I know most people like it but I just cannot stand BF3. Its annoying on way to many issues to name. So I hope Bad Company 3 is more like BC2 and less like BF3.

Picked up a copy of Mirror's Edge in CEX a few months back (£2.50 - BARGAIN!) & loved it, so will likely be getting the sequel. Highly doubt I would be hyped for it otherwise so take note EA; the used game industry has its benefits!

Bad Company 3. All we need is Bad Company 1 humor like "These guys are not the guys i was talking about", and the action of the current Battlefield, with a few new things or fixes etc. Oh, and a much more instrumental Battlefield theme to dance along.

I do not understand why they need to make another Bad Company 3, Battlefield 3 already is promised to last about 5 years.... coming out with another battlefield related title would be stupid... unless.... they bring it out as a DLC extension to BF3....

If they were smart they would focus on making bad company games the CONSOLE BF and Battlefield 3 the PC experience...or at least in the future have more like that.

When playing bad company it just felt good on consoles while battlefield 2 and 3 feel good on PC's.

Any one else agree?

@Fruitymachete Agreed! Years back the market was to crowded with WW2 games however that has shifted into the modern shooter and little to no work being done to bring "current tech" to WW2 games - image BF1942 on Dice's current BF3 platform - it would be great!
