The new trailer for Bad Boys For Life is here. Will Smith and Martin Lawrence return as rule-breaking cops Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett for the long-awaited third movie in the action series, which releases in theaters on January 17, 2020.

The latest trailer delivers exactly what you'd expect from a new Bad Boys movie. There's plenty of wise-cracking dialogue and outlandish action, plus a few jokes about Smith and Lawrence being somewhat older than they were when the series kicked off in 1995. The trailer doesn't reveal much about the plot--beyond Mike and Marcus being teamed up with a team of younger cops for one last mission together--but let's face it, it's not the storylines that have made this series so popular. Check the trailer out above.

Now Playing: Bad Boys For Life - Official Trailer 2

Bad Boys For Life also sees the return of Joe Pantoliano as Captain Howard, and the cast also includes Alexander Ludwig (Vikings), Vanessa Hudgens (High School Musical), Paola Nuñez (The Purge TV seres), Charles Melton (Riverdale), and Happy Anderson (The Tick). The movie is directed by Bilall Fallah and Adil El Arbi, who have also been hired for Beverly Hills Cop reboot.

Bad Boys For Life has taken its time to get here. It was originally set to be released in 2017, but production delays and the departure of director Joe Carnahan means that it didn't start shooting until last last year. There was also a fourth movie planned, which was scrapped during the various delays.

The first Bad Boys was directed by Michael Bay and released in 1995. It was a huge hit, making $141 million worldwide on a $19 million budget, while 2003's Bad Boys II made $273 million worldwide.
