2K confirms XCOM announcement during Gamescom 2013

I am completely and pleasantly mesmerized by Xcom: Enemy Unknown on my first playthru. I haven't had this much fun gaming since my gunslingin' highwayman of the wastes reluctantly put the final smackdown on the Mojave in Fallout New Vegas last year. If this new Xcom is a standalone sequel rather than DLC, then that's really great news because playing xcom: eu has been pure joy.

More DLC for XCOM: EU? That would be awesome. The game could use more content 4sure, it does feels a bit incomplete.

hope one can build more than one base this time around, also better mechanics for taking down UFOs, in the original every encounter didnt guaranty a downed UFO, it certainly made things interesting.

You knows what's funny, in one of my Enemy Unknown Sessions, my squad had one soldier left. I walked into the next room and oh look: Chryssalids, 3 of them..

I can't wait for more XCOM!

Yes! You rock Firaxis! I was worried about X-Com Enemy Unknown, But it was awesome, always room for improvement but a great installment for this generation. I'm definitly excited about this new X-Com. Enemy Within eh? Terror of the Deep maybe? Oh god that would be so awesome!

Glad to see a good game series getting some attention.

What? Another game? Can you at least fix the current one before releasing the new one? Xcom still has tons of bugs.

Pretty sure it'll be a sequel, It's almost been a year since the game was released and if they're just announcing a game, that means it probably won't come out until next year. Either way, more of a great thing is never a bad thing. (logic is fun)

I never thought this series would be resurrected and reach mainstream popularity after it's spectacular demise so many years ago. It's like I'm living a dream.

It may not be the Final Fantasy Tactics sequel I've always wanted but it's the next best thing. Can't wait for another X-Com.

x-com enemy unknown is so good. It's up there with Civ 5 as kings of "where the fk did 8 hours go".

Finally. The game is wonderful, but it seriously lacks replayapility. I will buy as long as it is not another slinghot.

Firaxis giving the people what they want.

A lot of cry babies complaining about "More Map", "More Weapons"... While Firaxis was already working on a sequel (or an expansion or standalone expansion)... That's awesome.

I hope they balance it better, because the beginning is too hard, but the end of the campaign is too easy...

Love X-Com:EU, would love to see new content or even a new game with some of the bugs ironed out. The animation was a bit choppy in places and the line of sight was terrible once you started fighting on different levels.

But still! Looking forward to trying Declassified later this month, but another game like EU would be very much appreciated :)

They should make a sequel to "Enemy Unknown" where you invade the alien planet. I want to continue it with my previous save games too.

The more xcom, the better. Hell, the more anything that isnt a first person shooter the better.

Seems to be a lot of Xcom going on. Is this going to be the next Assassin's Creed?
