A total mess and disaster from EA. DON'T BELIEVE ANY OF THESE "10" REVIEWS clearly posted by Bioware/EA employees

User Rating: 1 | Anthem PS4

First and foremost, note how, starting yesterday morning, there's an avalanche of 9 and 10 reviews for this game on here... a game that EVERY SINGLE CRITIC and online gaming site calls a massive failure and disappointment, at BEST. Starting on Friday and through Monday there were a lot of reviews from REAL gamers on here that averaged 5.1. For 4 days many reviews on here were running the gamut from 1-10 but the majority were accurately rating this game "horrible." Then suddenly yesterday, nothing but 10 reviews? I'm expected to believe that suddenly everyone thinks this is a "10 - Essential" game? LMAO. I can smell the desperate EA/Bioware employees furiously making accounts on Gamespot to increase the "user score" a mile away. Even though everything is subjective, these reviews are 100% bogus. This game has monumentally been trashed by everyone, including the huge majority of gamers... me included. Put it this way, all these 10 reviews are saying this mess of a game deserves the same score as Zelda: Breath of the Wild, God of War and Horizon Zero Dawn? Uh huh. Riiiiiight.

I've been playing the game and I really wanted to like it. I was willing to overlook a lot of glitches and mistakes but the amount I've encountered is infuriating. Not to mention the lousy story, stupid dialogue and more loading screens than any game I've ever seen. Once again, EA rushed a game out the door that should have never been released. How this greedy company can't understand that first impressions really matter and we'd rather you push the release date out longer to give us a great game is beyond me. Here's a few things I've encountered that suck with Anthem:

  • Your Javelin (jetpack) overheats WAY too quickly. The one thing that had so many people psyched about this game was flying around like Iron Man. Instead of enjoying the views and experiencing pleasure with flying around, it's a total chore where you're constantly distracted by doing things so it doesn't constantly overheat.
  • When you're lagging behind team members a message appears on screen telling you as such, totally obscuring your Javelin meter so you have no idea if it's overheating or not. And this message stays onscreen way too long.
  • On missions I'm constantly trying to find prompts showing me where to go and they usually take forever to find, if they're on screen at all. When you get to a quest spot, there's often nothing telling you what to do, so me and my teammates stand around wondering what to do or waiting for enemies to spawn.
  • The dialogue is stupid and so not inspiring I don't even care about the story.
  • Not being able to change load-outs during gameplay or even see the stats of the new machine gun you just got is a total pain. You literally have to go back to the Hub, open a bunch of menus... choose the new gun... launch a mission to check it out, and if you don't like it, too bad, you have to wait til the mission is over then go back to the hub....rinse and repeat
  • Every time you turn around, another loading screen. Worse number of loading screens I've ever seen in any game.
  • The menu is an absolute nightmare and total mess. I do user interface for a living and I'm speechless how bad the illogical menus are. I still don't know where half of stuff is and constantly have to Google everything.
  • The drop down menu is inexplicably on an ANGLE. Human eyes don't go down a menu on angles and we're all used to vertical placement. Therefore about 1/6th of the screen in the lower left corner goes completely unused. There are way too many drop down menus to get to the info you need too.
  • For some reason the developers couldn't be bothered to create real tutorials, basic controller layouts or any diagrams showing you what to do and how to do it. There's also no mini-map which would have been very helpful.

Sorry but this game feels like a bad BETA release. There's a ton of glitches I've encountered in the game too but I'm tired of typing. I'm left wondering: WTF were they doing for 6 years?
