This is the one video game that makes picking fruit and then burying said fruit an addictive activity.

For those of you who are familiar with previous animal crossing games, there isn't much in this game that you'll find different. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the franchise, Animal Crossing is a game where you play a newly arrived resident to a town of your naming. Upon arrival you are given a house, and a debt to pay off. From there the game opens up a sandbox of options. Overall the experience seems to focus around the in game currency (Bells), the variety of ways you can come across it and the number of ways you can spend them. You can choose focus on your house, and the decorating options the game provides. You can help your town expand by donating to the town fund.

The selling point for me is that the game works with your Wii's internal clock. The current time of day and date is represented in the game. If it's too late in the day, the shops will close and people will go to sleep. The fish and insects found throughout the game depend on the season and the time of day. The activities and events are also based around the calendar with the residents celebrating various holidays throughout the year.

The online community also is pretty nice but it's also a bit difficult to get involved due to the friend code restriction placed on the game by Nintendo. I found working closely with a user created community helps this process but it doesn't make it any easier.
