In 2023, the X-Men will be coming to Disney+ in a new animated series. However, what sets this apart from other animated series is that it will be a continuation of the beloved Fox animated show which aired from 1992-97. And who doesn't want to hear the "snikt" from Wolverine's claws or hear Gambit try to woo Rogue again?

Titled X-Men '97, Disney+ announced the new series during Disney+ Day. The show won't be arriving for well over a year, but the announcement of new episodes will have everyone talking up until the release date in 2023.

At the time of this writing, it's unknown if any of the original cast will return to voice the characters they gave life to during the '90s. Sadly, the voice of Cyclops, Norm Spencer, passed away in August 2020. Many of the original voices from the show are still working, so there's a chance we could hear them again.

The original X-Men animated series followed Professor X and his X-Men--primarily comprised of Wolverine, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Rogue, Beast, Storm, Jubilee, and Gambit--as they battled those trying to end the "mutant scourge" or those trying to take over humanity. During the five-year run, the team faced various foes like Magneto, Apocalypse, Sabretooth, Mr. Sinister, Mojo, and more. The series adapted many famous comic book arcs and crossed over with other Marvel heroes--Rogue spent an episode dealing with draining Carol Danvers of here powers and even Captain American popped up on the series.

November 12's Disney+ Day offered up a lot of big announcements about upcoming TV shows and movies coming to the service. The first sizzle reel for the Star Wars Obi-Wan show arrived, which featured director Deborah Chow and star Ewan McGregor talking about the upcoming series. The Big Hero 6 spinoff Baymax got its first trailer, and Baymax is just as charming as you remember. Willow got a "meet the cast" video that is way funnier than it needs to be. The beloved Predator films are getting a prequel movie on Hulu. Marvel made a lot of announcements about upcoming TV series. And while it didn't happen during Disney+ Day, the first reactions to Marvel's Hawkeye hit social media.
