Ahh yes Z.O.E. 2. Is it just me or does the title of this game make absolutely no sense. Well beyond the title, the sequel to Z.O.E is just a plain amazing game. It took everything from the first game, changed a little bit, and spit a totally new experience in our faces.

Gameplay: Much of the first games original flavor was retained here. It's the same hack n' slash gameplay mixed with shooter elements. However for the sequel, new little quirks have been added to spice up the gameplay. This includes new moves, new subweapons, (gotta love that vector cannon) and new enemies. The control remains the same. Slightly unresponsive controls, and the camera will seriously mess you up in combat. None of these unfortunate tumors cripple the game thankfully.

Graphics: Drop dead gorgeous. The first game used simple 3D polygons. Z.O.E 2 uses the same graphics system, but uses cell shading so subliminaly that it has to be an illegal substance. Explosions look just awe inspiring, and the characters themselves just look jawbreaking. It's like somebody in the development team spiked the punch, baked special brownies, and mixed coke with ecstasy. That's how beautiful it looks. I welcomed the anime cutscenes since they were drawn very well, and animated with style.

Sound: Improved. Now I don't have to listen to that little biatch Leo. Now the aptly named Dingo kicks ass....and asks a total of 0 repeat ZERO questions. Don't get me wrong Leo wasn't a bad actor.....his depression just ruined it. But now Leo is back.....and he is less annoying, in fact he turned into a little rebel. The awesome J-pop soundtrack just adds the icing to the cake.

Overall: A definite improvement. Fans of the first will no doubt eat up the 2nd game.
