A blast from the past with our subterranean, gun-toting pals.

User Rating: 8.5 | Worms PS3
As a player of the "Worms" from back in the PS1 days, my expectations for the PS3 version are pretty high. That being said, I'd say it delivers a good 85-90% on the nostalgia factor. Which, for not having played this game in many years, seems pretty good to me. Many of the classic weapons are there and of course the silly voices and quips the worms say are funny as always. It is mainly designed as a multi-player game, and that is where it seems to do best (just like the series has been intended to do since it's inception). A single player mode does exist, and provides some entertainment and puzzle/challenge modes. It's just that playing against a human opponent is so much more fun and rewarding. If you are a fan of this series in general, then I feel that you would enjoy playing this game and a purchase would be justified. Just as long as you have a friend willing to make the same $12.99 commitment and wants to play as well.
Two small (maybe big though...?) gripes: 1.) You can edit some of the weapon map settings, but not to the extent that you can on the PSP version, "Worms Open Warfare". 2.) The PSP version seems just a bit more fun and has more weapons. Had I not played it before the PS3 download I wouldn't be disappointed, but since I did...
