Personally I was skeptical of this no-name strategy game when it was announced back in April 2006 however after watching the trailers I knew simply I had to get this game. The Single Player campaign story resembles that of Tom Clancy's Red Storm Rising though diverges quite a bit towards Larry Bond's version of World War 3 during the 80's (pardon me closing eighties.) The gameplay is fast-paced without a doubt. The most pressing of balancing issues seems to revolve around infantry being underpowered which in my opinion should be chosen only if a player feels comfortable enough with the gameplay dynamics and also the layout for each individual map.

I don't think I have to address graphics, voicing, and music because there is an universal consensus that WIC is visually and audiowise: stunning. Yes it is not a true RTS but if you people actually bothered to read reviews outside Gamespot they clearly touch on the fact that WIC is technically a RTT (Real Time Tactical.) In the technical department this game is simply solid.

I also have to add that this game is very scalable and can play on most computers made after 2004. X Play's review of this game was simply off beat with the notion "that most people won't be able to play this game due to rigorous system requirements." Even in September 2007 when this game came out I don't think the playability part was much of an issue. Sure your gaming session may lack the bells and whistles but that does not make the game necessarily out of reach for most. If you want to talk about "rigorous" system requirements, take a look at Crysis when it came out.

Oh yeah for all those Company of Heroes is "better than this heap" comments; that's like comparing Unreal Tournament to Battlefield which don't have much alike in gameplay and execution. An oranges and apples comparision simply DOES NOT qualify as much of a review if you're aren't even covering all aspects of said game in a review. If you insist on writing such reviews, you're really just wasting the gamer's time to find a proper assessment of a game even if it is "your opinion."
