This title had all the makings of a great game: Humor, clever plot, interesting idea for characters, and a new spin on platformers. However, I really felt this game fell short on a lot of levels. I only rented it, but after 4 days, I was over playing "Whiplash". The collision problems are horrendous. I was constantly fighting characters through walls. How could programmers over look the fact that a character is standing with the roof of a metal cage cutting through the middle of the character is beyond me. The interesting twist of having Redmond be indestructible would be great if it were utilized more. Except for the Helium and Electricty, I was only using him as a swinging weapon. I found the controls to be a bit harsh to handle and the camera was constantly getting stuck at a bad angle. I did like the fact that there's so much stuff to destroy. It really is fun to just break everything in sight. Helps get out pent up aggression. I appreciate what the developers tried to do with the story and game play. The main characters are fun to watch. I just wish Crystal Dynamics had spent more time developing and qc-ing the game. I would have bought it if it lived up to the expectations.
