Watchmen: The End Is Nigh the complete experience is a great old-school beat-em up and should only be looked at as such.

Watchmen The End Is Nigh the complete experience should only be looked at as an old-school beat-em up and its a great one at that! If you like or love beat-em ups than this game is for you, but if you're not into the beat-em up genre than look else where, because this is not Batman Arkham Asylum. Batman Arkham Asylum may be the best superhero game ever, but this Watchmen game is great as well. The two games are of a different genre however. That Batman game is a classic action adventure title, unilke this game which is a straight forward beat-em up.

Watchmen The End is Nigh the complete experience is a great over all game, but it could have been something special like Batman Arkham Asylum. Unfortunately not enough effort was put into it to make it a standout game. It doesn't take a genius to figure out how to make a superb beat-em up. If Deadline Games added these key additions than they would of had a superb game:

(1) A lot more boss fights! There are a total of just three boss fights in this Watchmen game. One in part one and two at the end of part two. If there was a boss fight at the end of each chapter than it would help with the repetitiveness of the regular enemies. With a boss fight at the end of each chapter it would make for a total of 10 boss fights and this would greatly improve the over all game play and would make this already great beat-em up much better.
(2) Dead Line Games could have added some sub-boss fights at the midway point of each chapter. This would have made for more fun battles.
(3) More regular enemy types would have made this game a lot better and far less repetitive. There are only seven different regular enemy types in this game unfortunately. For a total of ten different enemy types counting the three boss fights.
(4) Side missions or challenges would have been nice. Like in Batman Arkham Asylum.
(5) Needed a lot more collectables. This gives the player a reason to explore the levels more and adds more time to your play through.
(6) An arena mode would have been helpful. Like in God of War 3.
(7) Multiplayer online play would have been awesome.

Now I'm sure there could have been other key things that could have been added to this game to make it a superb one. If everything in this game was as brilliant as the combat and the graphics, than this game would have been superb. I love the combat and finishing moves. The combat is bloody and brutal and superb. The graphics are superb too, especially for a movie game.

Game aspects break down:
Game Play: 7.5 Graphics: 9 Combat: 9 Controlls: 9 Replay Value: 7 Sound Design: 8.5 Story: 6 Prentation: 8 Boss fights: 8 Regular Enemies: 7.5
Enemy variety: 5 Level Design: 8.5 Collectables: 6.5

So over all this is a great beat-em up game. Final score: 8 out of 10. I hope Deadline games will make more Watchmen games in the future. I'm sure they could make a superb Watchmen game. Here's hoping for the best!
