Best All out war Multiplayer game I've played to date

User Rating: 9 | Warhawk (w/Headset) PS3
Warhawk is an online only game in which you battle against other users in the traditional settings for shooting based games, capture the flag, death match, and team death match among others only to be found on Warhawk such as the one which includes the "hero" mode in which one player is given super-strength and vastly overpowered for a short period of time so players from his opposite team attempt to find and kill him by any means possible and earn victory points, the hero status Is randomly given to one of the players from each team and then to one of the opposing one after respectively until the end of the game, that goes just to describe one of the original modes available in the game.
In this all out war game you can face your foes using battle tanks, aircrafts, ground vehicles equipped with mounted machine guns and a wide variety of weapons to be wielded by ground forces (regular soldiers) who can choose to jump in any of the available combat hardware and easily control it to launch attacks at any time.
The game has huge maps with different weathers, environments and locations each one with different hideouts, posts and bases fully equipped with defensive AA Missiles and AA artillery for defense. Although Gameplay mechanics change dramatically depending on which military hardware the player considering how each one has a significantly different learning curve and require alternative skills, Aerial dogfights take the most skill and with a growing competitive online community it won't be a walk in the park for newcomers to get a grip. On foot combat and tank maneuvers will require precision mostly, while driving is extremely easy, nothing different from the basic driving controls you can expect in any video game, they somewhat resemble those of a GTA game, don't take it literally though it's a comparison in terms of learning curve, basically none existent easy to pick up and play immediately except for the fact that the vehicles on Warhawk require another player to tag along and operate the machine gun for both attack and defense, it's never nice to find yourself alone in a situation where you're outnumbered and just shooting standing still or speeding away for your life.
Air to ground attacks are the most destabilizing and damaging so its quite important to learn how to perform those swiftly for a quick transition from air to ground assaults, right now it sounds complicated but after a few hours of play it all becomes clear.
While this review is centered around the core content of the game, there are Downloadable packs available for this game that unlock new maps, vehicles, modes and weapons, the most representative of the expansions for Warhawk is a combat jetpack for stealth attacks.
Visually Warhawk does fit in the standard of what an average PS3 should look like and the soundtrack while not mind blowing fits the atmosphere of the online experience.
