I’m pretty new into the Bioshock series. I played the demo of Bioshock 1 (Planning to buy the game one day) and I borrow Infinite because I heard it was like a amazing game and one of the best. I beat the game and It wasn't that bad. The ending for me was more confusing then a surprise but I still liked it. But for me I somehow liked Bioshock 1 then Bioshock Infinite. The reason is because Bioshock 1 always got me of guard and saying "Oh snap" and "Whoa" and the atmosphere felt creepy and mysterious and I had little support which was more challeging for me. In Infinite it also had this amazing colorful atmosphere and a fun gamplay but I just felt like it was just a hallway of a FPS game intill the end.
Even though it was a very good game which I give it a 8.5 out of a 10 because of it unique ending. To me it wasn't all that great and fall in comparison to the orginial Bioshock 1 game. (I have no idea what Bioshock 2 is about)
Just picked the game up and the start of the game made my jaw just drop. I can't wait to play it all the way through.
You walk through a corridor listening to voxophones and reading things. You arrive at an arena-like part of the map full of enemies. You beat the enemies in the arena. You proceed to another corridor. Do it time after time untill the game ends. BORING!!! The gameplay sucks, the replay value is zero. The story is very nice, but, serious, nothing that new. The game is nice overall, really not bad, but masterpiece? Come on... There's a lot of better games.
Really debating wether too buy Bioshock or not!!!! Can someone tell me positive things about the game because all i have been seeing is bad things!!! thanks
This game looks great, but all the hate on it is making me nervous! LOL
Bioshock 1 and 2 were excellent.
Mr.Ken Levine your Infinite felt like a teenage girl's bedroom and that is all I have to say.
seriously? a diabetes commercial with an amputee right before the video on a video game website? really?
propaganda is for people who can't think for themselves, and who do what they are told w/o question. anything set before you can inspire critical thinking if you allow yourself to think.
it is up to the viewer to decide what to take from the subject matter. if you believe this game is propaganda, then i believe you have missed the point and have failed to think critically about what is being shown to you.
I've played the first two Bioshocks and Minerva's Den at least 3 times each and I'm having a hard time liking it as much. First I find it too easy, I fell like I'm blowing my way through it. It doesn't have the tension of the early Bioshocks. I miss hacking things. Taking over machines feel far too simple. And I personally prefer hacking things than having to find lock picks all the time. I've yet had to buy ammo...there's almost too much of it lying around. Rapture was also a much more scary, and eerie. I miss the splicers because so far I haven't faced anything that even made me feel remotely challenged.
Really enjoyed 1 and 2 but man... this one I just can get into it.. Im about 6 hours into the game and its so boring.... I bought it so Im gona finish it but its a disapointment...
Everyone who spare some time to read the comments will see that the opinions are divided. Many, many, many people thinks this game sucks. I, personally, think it sucks too. I start playing it 2 days after launch and, dude, I regret the time I spent on it. The game is extremelly boring, the NPCs act nowhere near to what would be real or even acceptable in a game (and they all look the same!), the graphics are definitely not that great, the story is just "meh", etc, etc, etc... Seriously, no way this game is a 9 and it definitely is not this masterpiece some people are talking about. Of course fan boys will be fan boys and say that every contrary opinion is not a valid one. I'm a big fan of single player games with immersive stories, but that's not Infinite. I'm not trying to troll this game, I'm just trying to help people still deciding if they spend money buying this game or not. Sadly, corruption is everywhere and I have the feeling that the reviews and scores this game (and many others) is getting are biased. I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone.
@flameon12346 totally fair. I liked bioshock infinite more because i found it was more inviting and the combat was way more fun, while i found bioshock to be a little uncomfortably isolating and the combat felt a bit repedative. I would give infinite a 9.5/10 and bioshock 1 a 9/10 though, and i respect your review
What bad things have you seen please do tell ? Its a masterpiece game and this is coming from a gamer that isnt into the FPS genre. That said im not sure whether ur trolling or really got under some bad negative influence.
@MarkusC12 Its a beautiful world to look at and explore, the Vigors are fun too use ( but the bad note is that the seem TOTALLY out of place in this world :( ), and the sky rail MUST be used during combat adds a great extra that is not in the others. The story is interesting, not great but keeps you involved and also it has a nice little nod towards the end. some fun interesting characters.
The bad is that nothing is really explained like SS nd BS1+2 , LOTS of firefights, and there is a HUGE gap between baddies that drop like flys and then ones that eat up your bullets with not so much of a scratch. there are other flaws but I will keep the positives fore you ;)
@Shahada1976 It's one of the best games of all time, hands down.
install the ADBlock browser extension and you won't have to watch ads
@lemmy2 I agree, Bio 1&2 the action started immediately, this one I wander around wondering where everybody is. And how is the video "review" NOT just a commercial ? He didn't have anything critical to say. GameSpot used to offer decent reviews many years ago. Now they're paid off to just "like" everything.
@thegroscon graphics condemn a game?? Gona delete all my indie games now!
Thanks for iluminating us!
@thegroscon Upgrade your GPU dude.
@thegroscon This is the best Bioshock by far.
@thegroscon I'm at about the same point and I'm feeling the same way. I play for an hour or two and then turn it off. The day before I played The Testament of Sherlock Holmes all day and beat it. Loved every minute of that game.
@PowerDingALing For the record, I never played the other BioShock games and I still haven't (although I plan on it). I am in no way a "fan boy". I'm not biased. I heard Infinite was a great game, so I bought it. I played it. I loved it. Personally, I'm surprised so many people dislike it. So please, before you bash everyone who likes the game and accuse them of not taking other's opinions into account, take a look at your own post which claims that all proponents are fanboys. If you're going to take the time to point out that the opinions about this game are divided, don't claim that one of those sides is right. No one is right - it's an opinion.
Sorry you didn't like the game, but hey, that's your opinion and I respect that.
@PowerDingALingFor someone who claims to not want to tell people what to do, you sure spend way too much time telling everyone how terrible the game is, and how wrong their opinions are.... Hypocrite.
@PowerDingALingFor someone who claims to not want to tell people what to do, you sure spend way too much time telling everyone how terrible the game is, and how wrong their opinions are....Fucking hypocrite
@PowerDingALing Who are you to decide for anybody else what to buy? Don't like the game? Fine don't play it. And from reading your comments you are bashing on everyone who likes the game. Cmon man grow up! You say you like games with immersive stories and you say BI is boring? Who are you kidding. This clearly show you didn't follow the story as it was meant to be. The game is full of detailed secrets that are clearer to you only on the second playthrough. You probably didn't even finish the game. Tell me then, which game did you like and consider it better than BI story wise? Go play your mindless shooters with a bunch of soldiers, raising gunfire and explosions promoting that war is fun. And yes of course the corruption and conspiracy must be present in rating of a video game /sarcasm.
@DavidStorm Masterpiece? Are you out of your mind? What in the world in this game could make it to be considered as a masterpiece? There's nothing new to this game. No replay value at all. The most overrated game in the history of the videogames.
@l4v4lampDude, I'm not deciding anything for anybody, I think that's very clear. That said, I will comment on everything I want. Everybody can, why couldn't I? I'm not speaking here about or comparing Infinite with mindless shotters (altough there are some very fun indeed), I think that's very clear too. Story isn't everything, it's a GAME, I wanna PLAY. There are many games out there with better story and much, much better gameplay, graphics, ideas... Both gameplay AND story in Infinite are a bore. And don't even starting talking about games "promoting war", that's stupid and even Infinite promotes killing of people that aren't even soldiers. You are clearly a person who can't handle contrary opinions like mine. Not everyone should like a weak game just because you do
Naw, trust me, Call of Duty already took the crown for the most overrated game in the history of videogames!
