I had to keep  a jar of salt handy after what the one guy said about 4K TVs. Even if they sell by a factor of 100-1 in 2 years as compared to know, it will still be a very rare item. The prices will still be too high for an average middle class family.

So lets suppose that somebdy decided to buy a 4K TV in about 2 years, What will the picture quality look like compared to Blu-Ray? The same! Just because your TV has a shitload of pictures, they will not be utilized until movies are rendered in 4K. That's a LOT of data space and gear improvements which most publishers will simply not even consider paying for. In 2 years, my guess would be that you may see maybe a dozen major films released in 4K per year.

And as for there being lots of games being played in 4K 2 years from now? That's even more ludicrous. AC4 is NOT a 4k game, it's an HD game with some 4K tectures. BIG difference. You can write off this entire console era right off the bat. Maybe in 5 or 6 years you'll start to see triple-A quality games in 4K, but expect a lot of complaining in the early days about frame rates. It'll be Crysis circa 2007 all over again.

The cloud gaming stuff is still completely uninteresting to me until they can prove they can deliver. Remember OnLive and Gaikai? Yeah, neither does anyone else (though I know the Playstation service is based on Gaikai).

Also, they really pushed 4K, but again, the content is still far off and will NEVER come to the XBO or PS4 (games-wise, at least) because they're simply too weak. Hell, my monitor is 1680x1050 which is technically sub-FullHD and I'm still fine. I actually enjoy being able to crank up every game to max settings and substituting that fucking monstrosity called FXAA for SMAA or SSAA. Yeah, I might upgrade to a nice 27" or 30" 2560×1440 monitor at some point, but 4K just seems like a waste of resources for now.

These 2 are morons. The Nvidia Tegra K1 is way more powerful than 360 / Ps3 and they demonstrated how so in their demos...these 2 come back saying otherwise...wtf kind of nonsense journalism is this?

It will be interesting to see the price of these new Monitors...  If Interesting is the right word.

The matter is not as simple as binary, dude. What they had is a first impression that has been provided by controlled demos, and not extensive testing.

Perhaps you should consider this before slamming others.

@IanNottinghamX Maybe them being there and them being professional gaming journalists have a better handle on what it is than us sitting at home watching video's on youtube?

Also why listen to the people making it? Of course they are going to sell it as more powerful than consoles. They are selling it. The only thing that really matters is if it actually is better than consoles.

That also includes controllability, price and software available. Why would I want a touch screen tablet with graphics better than a 360/PS3 for a lot of money when it has shit controls and no games worth playing? Hell it could look like a desktop PC and I wouldn't buy it without games or good controls.

@Dannystaples14 @IanNottinghamX In the demo we saw, Trine 2 ran pretty well on a tablet, but the frame rate would drop down occasionally. Could have been an optimization thing.
