The Gist - 4 PS4 Games Worth Buying A PS4 To Play
Already taken the PS4 plunge or keen to try but need to know if the games are up to scratch? Jess has you covered with these excellent PS4 titles.
*Spoilers - don't read unless you either don't care about Infamous Second Son or have already beat it*
On Infamous Second Son, the good/evil thing is really cosmetic. My bro played it, since he doesn't work or have a life, he beat it in like 2 days. I was joking about the no life part, :) The only real changes are that your character bangs the neon babe, and you make some of what that video something kid does more dark and he changes his avatar power thing to demons over angels. Other than that there really wasn't any changes. Although I don't know how the game ends so I don't know how the ending will be affected, but some thing happens anyway the brother dies in either ending.
I never understand why some people are such game elitists. A game is a game. If its good, that's what matters. The cost of it should not be its true value.
Infamous looks good, but that seems to be about it. Visuals are pretty stunning. Dang if Jess doesn't talk REALLY fast LOL
Wow. A mere 4 games, 2 of which are indie titles, that are available on pc/ps3/360, and 1 is psn title that literally 1.5-2 hours long. Now that's a true value for 400 bucks hardware! (not)
Since my shoulder broke down to such an extent that I cannot play PC-games anymore, I finally ordered a PS4. I'm very much looking forward to playing Infamous and Killzone (despite the luke-warm reviews, I think it looks like my cup-of-tea). Destiny is beckoning on the horizon as well.
sorry but buying next gen to play indie games makes no sense
most of them look like ps2 or gamboy games and wont keep you going back to them too often...
She has to post a video about something. I guess she ran out of ideas and this was her backup piece.
Not a chance you should buy a ps3 for any of those games. Even infamous was just an above average game.
Those games are not worth buying a PS4 for. Infamous: Second Son probably, but those other games are not worth purchasing a new $400 system for unless money isn't an issue. Towerfall: Ascension and Transistor are on PC and can run on modern low-end systems. Resogun is just another arcade shooter.
The games are worth playing, but not worth buying a PS4 to play. But I guess Gamespot had to use hyperbole to get those extra clicks. It worked!
Once again staggered by the indie hate on these boards. Granted they tend to be short, but they also tend to be reasonably priced and better, more innovative games than many AAAs, especially CoD or the latest by-the-numbers Ubisoft open world game.
I still generally prefer big games, but I have nothing but respect for hard-working, creative indies who make games because they love them. They push our hobby forward artistically, and dignify it with their passion and integrity - qualities that are often lacking by comparison in the AAA space.
I know it`s obvious, but honestly, I do wish that I would`ve waited till 2015 (God willing) before buying a Ps4, because that again, obviously, the true year for gaming. K bye.
Any game that is considered an Indie is never a reason to buy a $400 thing, because as I hope everyone knows Indies are so short and become boring way to quick.
... i think it would make more sense to tell why NOT TO BUY A PS4, 3 Indie Games and one exclusive ... thats a joke or isn't it?
the first time the PS4 will have some must have games is far away.
But there are enough people who just buy the console for games like, Cod, BF, AC, Fifa, now Watch Dogs and many other multiplatform titles that are popular, and why not let them have fun with it.
I simply prefer a good gaming PC, thanks to console business, the Pc doesn't need to be upgraded every 2 years.
Ps4 and Xone are not strong anyway. 4-5 year old PCs with new GPUs could live another 5-6 years.
Thats 3x times higher life rate for a PC compared to those i used 10-15 years ago.
I only own a WiiU yet, its the only system where to find enough great exclusives for houndreds of hours of gaming.
I want to see if Project Beast really goes exclusive, that could be a good reason to buy the PS4, but i also would like to see a real nextgen God of War and not the boring stuff we saw in Ascension, FF XV as exclusive (like it was announced for PS3 for about 5-6 years) would also give me another look at the console., What about Last Guardian will it ever come out?.
PS4 now have a much bigger potential then PS3 to get better exclusive support, while the PS3 even had the better exclusives compared to X360. In a few mounths PS4 will sold 2x more then Xone.
Each big exclusive release would add another few Million Buyers.
There will be upgraded Ps4s when the bigger games come out.
I hope Sony will have a great E3 with a lot of games to show, cause i nearly see nothing coming in the next 2 years that might get my interest.
Games my PS3 could easily run are not a reason to buy a PS4. They look fun and are on my list to get later, but are not a reason to jump now rather than wait for the inevitable revamped console, bigger hard drive and games that actually feel next gen.
As a PC Gamer I'm pretty disappointed so far with my PS4 I've hardly used it. All I have bought is Infamous Second Son. The rest of the games available on PS4 are generally multiplat so I bought those on PC instead. Anyway, I'm really hoping for some PS4 exclusives to be announced at E3 otherwise my PS4 will start gathering dust..
Any predictions on the Xbox One list? My guess:
2) Dead Rising 3
3) Below (Assuming this is done post the release of that game - If not Killer Instinct)
4) Killer Instinct
5) Super Time Force
6) Forza 5
7) Ryse (I really enjoyed this game, I liked it more than Forza)
All are solid titles although best visuals so far are likely NBA 2K. It is sick on next gen.
I don't know why people always skim over Killzone:SF. It's the best Killzone game of them all, the graphics are incredible, the game play is the tightest of the whole series, and even the multiplayer is fun.
Yes it's kind of a slower paced shooter, but the little flying thing you have really adds a neat dimension to the game and increases the tactical nature of the combat.
It's like people give it such a hard time because it plays differently than BF and Cod. Sad.
This is actually a really good reason to own a PS4,in my opinion, especially at a low price.
i have second son, i didnt feel it was as good as the very first infamous, but hey thats my opinion!! a little early for exclusives i think and reasons to buy each console, infact both are a little slow in release titles!! still i enjoyed the vid
At the moment Wii U is the best option.
This system has a wide selection of great games.
Probably by 2015 the PS4 will have enough titles
That will make it worth buying.
Reasons enough for me: BF4, Resogun and Rayman Legends.
I and my daughter have fun in Rayman Legends.
let me make it clear, I OWN A PS4
its rubbish but not as bad a the xboxone
stick to your 360 or ps3
online is rubbish and will never get better because of lag compensation
the success of games is measured by profit, not by the quality.
costant promises, hype and future speak of how good it is going to get with each firmware update and just wait till the potential is realised and unlocked etc.
its entertainment, and if you become any good at games, you will then notice all the lag and bugs and clunky controls etc. untill then enjoy the bliss of ignorance
oh and lets not forget the dlc and microtransactions that has become the norm too.
when did it become acceptable to realease a product on the promise it will get better?
and of these buzz words ring a bell
dlc (that thins player bases)
3 operating systems
i could go on but, we are lambs getting fleeced and lining up each year at midnight for promises.
i play my psp more than my vita because i actually own my games and now we rent them digitally, we are going to get so so screwed. going to?
I bought PS4 last wednesday with 2 games. inFamous, which is good, and Rayman Legends. This game is the best. I'm enjoying it much more than inFamous
I finally bought the PS4 last week. I like all 4 games I bought (Wolfy, Watch Dogs, Killzone, Mlb 14), but I actually think the best one is is MLB 14. It's the best sports game I've every played, and I'm a baseball fan.
Whats great about the PS4 is the download speed is fast. You can download Triple AAA games in just minutes it seems compared to the PS3 which takes hours and hours. You can have them on your hard drive and switch between games very easily.
The series still lacks that feminine seductive charm that the first one had in Sasha and the truly mysterious and "evil" bad guy in Kessler. It's still my favorite.
During the game you'll have smoke, neon, television and concrete powers. You get the concrete powers during the last boss battle. You better get all your blast shards prior to this because you'll need to upgrade all your powers during the battle or you most likely won't succeed. You won't be able to use any of your other powers during the last battle either.
They do have that nice former druggie girl there which is nice. You swing her to either the good side or keep her on the bad side depending on which direction you go.
At the end, the tribal leader will give it to you good if you chose to go the evil route.
Other good to great games for the PS4
*Killzone Shadow Fall: Echo, your female companion and mentor for many of the missions is a great addition.
*The game doesn't stop when the credits start to roll (for the first time). Allow the credits to roll for a few minutes and then the final mission comes up where you play as Echo getting revenge. Enough said.
Need for Speed Rivals
Strike Suit Zero: Director's Cut
MLB The Show: I don't watch baseball, but it can be fun to play. I play as the pitch in road to the show. I try to strike everyone out and pitch a perfect game out using my wit. Home Run Derby and batting practice if fun.
I like how they have several different control types for pitching batting.
I have 15 downloaded games and still have 137 GB left on the hard drive.
Awesome show Jess. Thank you. I would be thrilled and honoured if you would wear my blood around your neck.
@jnw93 Yes, it's a complete waste of money.
@rsj2 when you title a video "4 PS4 Games Worth Buying A PS4 To Play" and 3 of them are indie games not taking utilizing the Ps4 to its potential I can understand peoples reaction. But to your point it should be more focused at the video itself not the indie developers. Indie Devs are great for the gaming community and I will support them when ever I like an idea in their games.
but this was a stupid video that was click bait, these are NOT reasons to buy a Ps4...
@rsj2 I couldn't have said it any better myself :)
@Darkangel2154 I get what you're trying to say but... (Zloth looks over at Star Citizen and Elite: Dangerous) I don't think "indie" is really the term to use. How about "low budget"?
@elbauto It's easier for independent developers to work with?
@SPBoss I have a preference for PC as well, and like you I do enjoy some of the console exclusives. However, since good exclusives don't come out nearly often enough to justify buying a new console at or near launch, I wait not only for a few exclusives to hit the market but also for a console price drop. In the meantime I enjoy the multiplats on my platform of choice.
@SPBoss Buying a console just for exclusives is always a waste of money. Exclusives come out what? Twice a year? If that? You pay a lot of money just to play it twice a year.
Same for any platform I suppose.
@guitarpete462 Agree, really enjoyed KZ...just didn't enjoy the MP.
@itchyflop infamous 2 was my favorite that game had awesome mobs to kill it was an underrated gem of a game but found it to be the best of the three the first infamous had the same mobs to kill over and over again and the third game was alot shorter but it was a pretty fun game but seemed pretty rushed could of been better.....
@snk0610 Good one.I needed a good laugh after the bad day I had.
@gamerasi Rayman Legends is a port, which only counts if you don't have a PS3.
@Dannystaples14 so what you're saying is that every PC gamer who owns a console for its exclusives is wasting their money? That's just me and a few million other like-minded people then.. lol.
I would say you're wrong though because when I bought a PS3 I thought it was a good investment and it had plenty of exclusives. The same will happen with the PS4, all in good time though
@runningman5ksmak @itchyflop The sheer feeling of power in the first with some really cool powers (never seen before) made it a thoroughly engrossing and sometimes challenging game. Sadly i never played the second installment but having purchased a ps4 and waiting MONTHS for internet due to a fault with the junction box i invested in second son, to play offline. its ok but doesnt have that same "god" like feeling to it. :)
I also laughed when i saw your comment :)
Wii U has much more games then PS4.
I didn't say it's a better console.
I said at the moment it's the best option because it has many games.
And a lot of good games.
That might change in a year from now
When the PS4 will have games worth buying.
@SPBoss Yeah I do think that is the case.
PS3 did have plenty of exclusives but they were pretty far between. If you buy a console and you play the multiplatforms on it as well as the exclusives you are using it a hell of a lot but just for the exclusives it ends up like you said, the console sits there not being played in between the exclusives.
I mean I don't know about you but I have better things to spend money on than a dust collector that occasionally plays games.
You are half right but consider things like: wife needs to work, most Sport games, coop games with the kids. Yes i prefer the pc for fps/strategy but most the others i prefer console, and of course the exclusives.
