New games are exciting, but there are thousands of classics that most people have never played or even heard of. Peter delves into his ever-growing collection in search of underexposed and misunderstood games from the past.
Schedule: Mondays at 11am PT
Host: Peter Brown
what people don't know is The F-14 of After Burner is much like a VF-1S of Macross. Near unlimited fuel and beyond mach 2 capablities. And Top Gun was awesome but...the song playing during refueling was more Mighty Wings than Danger Zone. If you listen to the instrumental part of Mighty Wings you'd see. Also Alieron Role or however you spell the flaps on an aircraft
Road Rash II was the best. Glad someone else here remembers the Lotus Racing games. Also, Scitchin'. So many great Genesis memories.
I actually had a home made "gamepad" for the C64 that was built with keys from a keyboard. I might still have that in storage somewhere and it might just work in the Genesis/MegaDrive (and Retron by extension) as i think they have the same controller port.
By the way a mirage is an optical illusion created by hot air not a hallucination. =)
Road Rash is better than Hang-On and Lotus Challenge games on the Amiga are some of my favorite racing games in the same style as Out Run. The Lotus Challenge games have awesome music!
I hated both, Super Hang On and After Burner. Hang On was alright, I could play it for a bit, but After Burner was no fun at all. Out Run was not bad.
I keep waiting to get that feeling back when playing games. I don't think it'll ever come back, that's why nostalgia is so great.
