Shadow Realms Excites With its Brand of 4 v 1
Lucy comes away from playing Shadow Realms hungry for more and explains to Danny why it's actually really exciting.
After looking through the comments, I'm wondering when "fun" stopped being a good reason to play a game. Do you guys need achievements? Like win five rounds in a row and get what essentially counts as nothing to make you feel better? That good old dangling carrot approach?
I miss the days when a game could just be fun and that's all that was important. Now fun no longer seems to matter.
Well, bioware managed to copy a bunch of different games play style / setting for this one and merged it all in one super generic package, but it seems like it'll be fun, so its got that going for it.
Also, cmon now Danny, you can do a better shaving job than that Im sure.
Since when is 4v1 the new thing ? I don't recall players craving for 4v1 games... Some developers are just so out of touch with players today. When I think Bioware I think epic single player rpg with great story, not 4v1.
I missed hearing from Lucy, she was awesome in the now defunct Gamespot UK Podcast.
I didn't care about this game because of the stupid name, but now that I heard about it... It sounds really cool
So that's what you did with all the money you got from us.
Make a crappy 4v1 MP instead of... oh I don't know, a better ENDING!!!
Let it go man, let it go, too late for the ending now, just support CD red from now on.
They're copying Evolve and Fable: Legends as far a gameplay goes, and then they're copying TSW setting, just ten times more generic and cliched. And Gosh, the names.
This seems like a really good idea, not a unique idea, note that Dungeonland and Fable Legends both do similar asymmetric gameplay and I doubt they are the only examples, but interesting none the less if bioware do it well. Unfortunately that's where the worry is because everything from the name to the enemy designs they've shown so far look horribly generic. Even the modern day fantasy setting looks like it might be squandered because I saw a lot of concept art of generic fantasy settings and little of battling in city streets or other modern locales. Please bioware up your game.
At least change the name... Shadow Realms... and playing as the Shadow Lord, or whatever. Sweet jebus Bioware, don't do that.
Shadow Realms really is a rubbish name. I'd like to see it in action though - from what I've heard so far it's an asymmetric multiplayer episodic action RPG with single player elements. That's quite a lot of things...
@riotinto876 he's technically on vacation, who needs a shave?
@tommynj So what? Just because Bioware usually does one thing means they can't branch out? Is there something wrong with a company delivering a variety of ideas? If it's not your thing that's fine but it doesn't mean there is something wrong with them making it for those who are interested.
@tommynj I used to think of them like that... A decade ago.
4v1 multiplayer (an by that I mean a fad) is exactly what I expect from them these days.
this is a rotten banana
@nodbgp I thought the same thing. Who the bloody hell is excited. Not me or any gamer I know.
@phoenix1289 @tommynj Nothing wrong with using other ideas. Still the whole "THEY COPYING"
Originality is so hard to do these days so people need to stop. Be more open minded and patient. While this isn't necessarily what I expected. I do want to play this and help improve the game. Provided they give an "Submit Suggestion/feedback option ingame).
Can't wait until Alpha or whatever starts.
