GS News Top 5 - PS4 Still Outselling $400 Xbox One; Is VR Anti-Social?
Find out who hates VR, why Crysis 2 is causing people nightmares, and which console blitzed the competition in sales for June!
by Edmond Tran on
I see VR social life similar to the film, "Surrogates" well, maybe not that extreme XD
still interested in replaying all my FPS in VR though. Crysis, HL, Bioshock
@AstroGazer bluray is 1080p on the xbox one and so are some games
When you are forced to make a Facebook account, then your privacy is being invaded. But until then, as long as it's a service you choose to use, they can use your information for whatever the F they want.
@emptycupofgames No way! When I choose to put all my personal photos and thrilling tales of daily drudgery online, I shouldn't have to worry about other people seeing...oooh, now I get it.
... sociopath gamers will fk anything that moves shes below average yet people can only comment on how oh a woman is in the gaming world... and that she looks like Jenni lee?
@moebra Your comment is no better than theirs. They were only being mildly creepy. While you felt the need to insult someone's appearance to make your point. In fact, your lack of tact only served to dilute your message. You might also want to find out what a "sociopath" actually is before using it in another sentence.
720p aliasing on bigger screens is very obvious. You can even see it on next gen demo machines with 32in screens at local game store. The max size for 720p 27in-32in, 1080p 32in-40in, over that 4k. Reportedly at 4k aliasing will be a thing of the past.
Nooo...not another Tekken...whats the point???
Same old story, add a bunch of boring characters and a new Mishima family member :P + NextGen Graphics = Yawwwnnn..
@catharzisx seems like theyre tekken it too far
Yeah remember tekken 3 where you had to play that side scroller to unlock dr b? They should make the whole game like that I thnk..
@andystephenson bro...TEkkeN 3 was EPIC....
the term: 'anti-social' is a 95% misused term that means "someone won't contribute to society, what do we have going on here bro!!!????"
but it's totally wrong. "anti-social" means you go out and destroy things in society. you want society to die.
there are people who are introverted and like society, even promote their other half. but they are not anti-social. watch what is passed around, question it and think for yourself, question authority.
but why is C2 causing nightmares. i mean it is an insane game, I loved it but i missed it in this, my bad
It was a boring week looking at this top list. I don't get the antisocial part. Is it a bad thing if you take some time to be with yourself? Or maybe later with others in the same place virtually? Just because someone owns a Rift does not mean he loses all hin contacts and isolates himself
Haha, I had to double-check that Jess actually said that: "Here's some [news] for your face-hole". Go Jess! :P
Jesus have you guys ever seen a femail before? I say sack her as it will get rid of the lonely douchbags on here and then hire someone who actually has a clue what they're talking about
ANTI-SOCIAL VS. ASOCIAL--A Common Mix-up
*Anti-social is someone who is more of a sociopath type person. Someone who infringes on others and doesn't care. Yes, I've had many of these type of people in my life. The world is a better place without them.
*Asocial (for lack of a better term)--is someone who enjoys being by themselves instead of being with others. More of an introverted personality type.
Introverts are actually superior to extroverts in one-on-one relationships. They don't bounce around, they are capable of much deeper social connections with a select person or just a few persons instead of an entire field of people like the extrovert. Yes, I know. I can get deep rapport with someone and know them and they know me from the inside-out very quickly. I've save other people's marriages--where the professionals have failed, been the parent to their daughters that their parents couldn't be and have been. . . I'll just leave it at that. I don't want come across as bragging or arrogant.
Introverts >> Extroverts most of time.
Jess says, "Thanks for joining me."
Thank you Jess. You're always a delight. The the best woman any guy or gal could spend their time with, in person or over the Internet. And yes, I word with about 20 woman everyday. I can. Most of them really like me. I can choose whoever I want.
Oh I see and since extroverts are worse than introverts according to your other post, all those women seem to be wrong
@SaintsRowLA Pal get a life, she's Australian, you will never see her in person you sad git.
Please, don't misquote me. I have nothing against the extrovert. Most everyone is capable of being introverted in one situation and extroverted in another. I admire some of the abilities extroverts have. It would have been to my benefit to have been a little more extroverted in certain situations dealing with some very bad people.
But introverts, especially me which I know from experience, have unique gifts that I dare say cannot be matched in any way, shape or form by extroverts, some of which I highlighted.
How do you know that?
Have you heard of E3? It's hosted in LA just up the street from where I'm at. How do you know I wasn't at E3?
Have you heard of Skype?
Have you heard of an airplane?
I do appreciate your concern.
Try to show the woman some appreciation for being here. Try to make her feel special. Even is she doesn't care in return.
Let me give you a tip.
It's very very easy to steal a married woman from her husband when she's married to a complete loser like yourself.
Dayum! 20 women? You're probably the coolest guy on the Internet. We need to make this guy king of lady-wording. Sexy. Just be sure to not get your penises tangled in all that digital minge you pathetic tool.
Ypu do know that your 20 women statement contradicts your claim of being introvert. Really to me you sound like a poor kid who has a big imagination
@ArchoNils2 Quit being a culturally bread GameSpot dummy.
I have no control who my co-workers are or the people at the gym are or who shows up to church or Krav Maga class or anyone else I come in contact with.
Yes, there's about 20 women were I work.
Why don't you try making a positive contribution instead of trying to shoot me down.
"Ypu do know that your 20 women statement contradicts your claim of being introvert. Really to me you sound like a poor kid who has a big imagination"
You guys really need to read some books or go to school. I feel like I'm trading posts with second graders. I would fill you in, but I don't want to show off and put you to shame one how ignorant you and many of the other males here at GameSpot are.
@SaintsRowLA "I word with about 20 women everyday."
Is that a euphemism or do you mean that literally? j/k
Every work day to be more correct. There's about 20 women in the building I work at.
I have good rapport with most of them.
We're just in the same building. We see each other in the morning and pass each other by, I fix all their computer problems when needed. But most of the time, we have superficial chat, I'll give them a nice compliment, and I stay away from them. I might have a more in depth conversation once in a while, but most of the time, I keep my distance, but I could be closer and develop a much deeper rapport with them if I wanted.
There is one woman who is very special, but she's happily married. We have great friendly rapport. Just like my last job (before the place closed down). There were 10 or so women and I had good rapport with them.
I just said that so no one thinks Jess is the only woman I see all day. It was also a way of paying her a compliment.
@spenta You probably look like an ogre. Hater
@spenta Are you that rude in person to people you don't know? It's sad how many people feel that the anonymity of the internet affords them the right to say incredibly rude and hurtful things to others.
"Our character is defined by what we choose to do when we think nobody is looking."
-H. Jackson Brown Jr.
Good lord do you thirsty children need to chill out. I'm tired of you creepy ass wierdos chasing away all the women of Gamespot.
There are alternative VR systems available so if it turns out Oculushas been ruined by facebook its not the end of the world.
You can't tell the difference on a screen less than 60". The average PC monitor is around 27", and with that logic, I guess PC gamers don't care about hardware, and play on systems vastly inferior to the X1. Seriously all this damage control makes it worse, just focus on good games, and the sales will increase, like Nintendo.
@canuckbiker You can notice the difference as long as the pixel density/resolution isn't about the "retina" display pixel density. It depends on the surface area, distance and number of pixels. Each factor has it's effects, for example, distance can change the perceived density.
Move the screen closer and you'll notice the pixels more easily. More farther away from you, and it'll condensate the pixels in relation to your vision, giving the notion of more density.
So, the sweet spot from where there won't be a noticeable difference, for a screen holded 10 to 12 inches from the eye, it should have a density of about 300 pixels per inch (PPI). On the iPhone 5 with it's 4" display, for example, that would translate to a resolution of 1136x640.
But for 15" monitor, you would need a 2880 x 1800 resolution to start not seeing any difference from there on.
It keeps going up proportionally, keeping in mind that it depends on the distance you are from the screen, it's size, and pixel density. The resolution of 4K could still be a noticeable difference if you're sitting from a considerable distance to your 60" TV.
@SambaLele I think... I think I just cried a little...
*starts a slow clap*
