Skyrim over all the right choice. Other shout outs to AC2/Brotherhood, Red Dead, Half-Life 2 (dunno if this counts) Portal 2, Borderlands 2 (lot of sequels in here) and Mr Drake.
One more thing, regarding the wii U. There's one thing that you all need to keep in mind before bashing the system.
First it's totally backward compatible with wii games, you can transfer all your saved datas making your old wii system useless to keep and returning it for trade-in got me 45$. And the controllers are still most of the time the wiimote/nunchuck combo (when not using the big ass gamepad that is...).
So I got myself a brand new wii u system last week for 202$, got to keep all my wii games and saves, got 45$ back for my old system so in a way I got it for +/- 150$ and i don't need to spend any money on hardware. You can't even get a DS/Vita at that price...
Xbox one and ps4 will be 400/500 and will require you to keep your 360/ps3 to keep playing past games and you'll have to spenf probably 50$ for additionnal controller and 100$ to get ps4's new 'kinect' thingie... Oh don't get me wrong, I will get a Ps4, it' just that I think the wii U is worth it for anyone who already has a wii system. Go get it, return your old wii and you'll have yourself a brand new system which should last 5~6 years for less than 200$ whereas other next gen consoles will require you to 'invest' nearly 700$.
I just tought about it and this vita bundle is pretty sure not to happen as it would kinda mean people would get their ps4 for much less and/or that retail sales of vita would become pretty much inexistant... Ps vita still sells for +/- 250$ depending of the bundle.
Hense i can see a lot of people going for the bundle and sell the vita for 150~200 and that would mean they got their Ps4 for 300?
It would be such a no brainer that it wouldn't make sense. They wouldn't bundle something that would make you save 150$!!!
And if the bundle does happen I guess there'd be a lot of 'used' vitas for sale from this bundle which would cut the new unit sales a lot...
Imo for it to happen the vita would require a +/- 100$ drop first.
That way the bundle would make more sense...
Anyways i'd prefer a watch dogs
I had Skyrim and sold it after Bethesda dropped the ball on PS3 DLC. Yes, it was great, and had I been able to play the DLC I would agree it's the greatest game of this gen. But I have to say Borderlands 2 was the best and that's from still playing in True Vault Hunter mode. I haven't even touched any of the DLC yet, and probably won't buy another game till I finish Tiny Tina's DLC, and by then I should have my PS4. Sony, you keep right on pushing Microsoft to step up, because I intend on having both systems by the time Halo 5 comes out, so it better be good and it better be comparable to the PS4 which I will acquire first. I love Nintendo, I hate the Wii U, not going there. I don't care to use stolen ROMS in my 3DS's but then again Nintendo has no leg to stand on when they are not giving gamers what they really want, especially after showing us what they are capable of doing. Ocarina of Time is a perfect example, but now where is Majora's Mask? Despite some great games that work for others, I don't really see anything in the E-Shop I want, so my dollar is going to Sony over the next year for sure. Maybe if they start releasing more N64 titles in 3D (Majora's Mask, Banjo Kazooie, Turok) I will spend more of my dollar with them. But the E-shop is flooded with Virtual Console games and cheap phone apps that do not truly show off the power of the platform. Even the lineup of Classic 3D titles have not changed since I got my first 3DS in Christmas of 2011. Nintendo is dropping the ball big time and it just screams bait and switch Nintendo. Bait and Switch. So why should I buy a Wii U on the hopes that good games will come out for it, when good games are not coming out for the 3DS? I'm done with Nintendo.
You gave BF3 and halo 10'a, who the hell are you kidding...and ya the Nintendo franchises are rehashes, after making them for 20 odd years how would you classify them?
The best game of this console gen is Skyrim, in my humble opinion. On the PC naturally. My second and third choices would likely be Arkham City and (to my chagrin) World of Warcraft. Yes, I am aware WOW slightly predates the XBOX360 - but it is an ever-evolving game (that has taken a serious nosedive in recent years).
If Sony does in fact sell the VITA/PS4 package for $500, get ready for a surge in new Vita auctions on eBay thereby devaluing the Vita brand. I don't think Sony is that stupid.
JESS I LOVE YOUR SHIRT! Omg.
I'm a huge Buffy fan.
Edit: Oh yeah, best game of this generation was Baldur's Gate 2. Come at me, bro!
Metal Gear Solid III: Snake Eater is the best stealth game I 've played. From what I 've seen and heard, Metal Gear Solid IV: Guns of the Patriots might be better but I haven 't played it (don 't have ps3).So, I MIGHT chose that one.
No one is going to agree with me, but I honestly think the best game of this generation is King of Fighters XIII. That is not even a game to me any more. It is a sport. Fair and Balanced (like Fox News)!!!
While it's true most people who buy a XBOne are going to have Gold Memberships, it's still pretty screwed up of Microsoft to lock out so many features of their console without one. Actually they've pretty much locked out all the features besides playing single player games. I really wouldn't be surprised to find out that you can't even watch bluray movies without a subscription to Gold. $500 for the console and you aren't allowed to use any of the BUILT IN features without paying M$ more money. That pretty much sums up what they think of their fans. On that note, it sounds like Sony is leaving nearly all other features open for use without their premium service. Just online gaming and PS+ games will require a subscription. Showing yet again, that Sony has some understanding of what their players want. And no I don't think Sony thinks of us as anything more than dollar signs, just like Microsoft, but they at least are smart enough to understand that keeping us happy keeps us throwing those dollars back their way. Microsoft seems to think we're all complete idiots who will keep blindly throwing money at them no matter how horribly they treat us. Bundling the Vita with the PS4 for $500 would be a pretty sweet deal. I've been unsold on the Vita up to now. The ability to stream games to it from the PS4 and offering it for $100 extra in the bundle might be my deciding factor. Let's see, buy a console that blocks out all features and forces the Kinect gimmick for $500, or buy a console that comes with a sweet second console that allows you to utilize the first one anywhere in the house for the same price while offering quality games on the go? Hmmm...wave my arms around and talk to my tv while M$ spies on me and pay them monthly for the privelage, or play my favorite games on a handheld while my girlfriend watches crappy doctor soap operas and True Blood for the same price? It's a tough choice, but I think I know whose getting me money this time around. The company that actually does product testing and reasearches what their customers want.
Look at that ''Favorite of the Gen'' tournament tree filled with overhyped casual and shallow mess of games.
@UNCStriker88 I would be pissed if they introduced a bundle after release. If they introduce it before I would be happy to cancel and preorder the bundle with vita to save $150 on a vita.
@UNCStriker88 Most likely it will bundle at retailers...meaning if I buy the ps4 then add a vita with it, The bundle price will appear which is what I hope anyway.
@ezquimacore without mods, it sucks
@FlakeyCrust Because most game developers look at us as "consumers", not "gamers"...
@PacoTaco Wow slightly predates ? Wow is predate since Burning Crusade is over.
@viewjet They are that desperate. New news suggest Vita is going on sale at Target for $200
@viewjet Amping up crossplay with a bundle would not be stupid. The folks selling their Vita's would be the stupid ones. I sold my Vita last spring and regret doing so but needed the money. Now I can get a new one with my PS4. Looking forward to the gaming options to be had.
@Tripwolf no, i will not enter that 'danger zooooone'
@Firelo Somehow MGS 3 : Snake eater has been my least prefered MGS of the serie...
Whether or not that was sincere, I unfortunately have to assume that you have picked a side In politics, and are there for retarded
CNN and the huffed lady are just as worthless as Fox News.......either one is a lose lose
@wiserat4 your final bit of sarcasm makes me thinks all of your post is sarcasm.
@roosteraxe1 Vita bundle is not confirmed.Cant compare.Sony cant do that. They cant stand to lose more money.
But im starting to think Sony is doing console for customers really. Since they losing only money.
Also for your last sentence i dont think im ever gonna get a product from a company who only loses money on all branches. Phones goes down , TV goes down , Console goes down , i dont even wanna start on Vita sales. Company lost %80 market share since early 2000 and getting none of them back yet. And if they bundle Vita with Ps4 for 500$ it will go down more.
@G4m3r0uTL4wZ I miss the "thumbs down" feature for comments.
@FlakeyCrust I don't know what you're talking about. There is no software update available for current generation PS3 models to allow the play of PS2 titles. There is also nothing that a software update could do to enable this feature. This has to do with the earlier "launch/fat" PS3 consoles having the "Emotion Engine" CPU + "Graphics Synthesizer" GPU chip from the PS2 for full hardware compatibility. These models will play almost all PS2 titles. These models are long discontinued. The NTSC 80GB MotorStorm/MGS4 bundle models have the "Graphics Synthesizer" GPU chip, but use software emulation for the EE CPU. These can be differentiated from the newer 80GB models because they have 4 USB ports. These models are not as compatible as the models with the EE chip, but they will still play most PS2 titles. These are also long discontinued. Therefore, it is not a limitation by software, but by hardware.
@simon1812 @G4m3r0uTL4wZ THUMBS DOWN feature allows jackasses to remain jackasses. They will thumb down a question. I have seen on N4G where someone just asked "Why are people getting mad at MS when they are receiving Console, Controller, Kinect and a Headset for $500 and PS4 isn't getting anything but a console and controller for $400?" That guy had like 100 thumbs down
@Matcam89 Nice, I can't wait! I hope they confirm the bundle soon.
@strikeTact @Matcam89 @UNCStriker88 If it works out the way I think it will. im going to buy the PSVita with in price match policy of Best Buy. Then will just price match the vita with my pre ordered ps4 to get the money back. That way I am sure to have a vita.
@FlakeyCrust And game developers dont see themselves as "gamers" but as "developers", and that means there are times they dont look at the current market as "gamers" but "consumers". It is just simple as that.
Nothing to argue about, and we are on the same page on this matter. If they can decide to hear us out, we can decide not to buy their goods. Simple decision making.
@FlakeyCrust Well, they dont see us that way, unfortunately....
