The Sims 4 and Titanfall get launch dates, Pikachu finds a new way to scare the life out of you by stealing your face, Sony talks about why PS4 didn’t go in a touchscreen direction (they’re also sorry about that $1,850 PS4 pricetag) and there’s a new iPad!

"their going to do what they can to reduce the price because its not like they were gonna run around saying too bad and #dealwithit"
I love you Jess hahaha
I am not a fan of APPLE, though their devices are good. I will not buy anything apple until they drop their desire to rule the mobile/tablet market by banning other devices. Their patents are not revolutionary, NOR first to develop it. they won on a technicality, and are trolling other companies, just like Microsoft.
Nintendo, should have made a better console at a lower price by not having the touch screen controller!!! a 199.99 Wii U with a bit more power would have sold like the Wii if not better.
We all know that Titan fall is a year exclusive. Why even speculate other wise. Its made by EA who brought Mass Effect over to PS3. Even though everyone said it would not happen. Its the same people saying the same thin
I think the Wii u gamepad is perfect for what NINTENDO want to use it for. As far as sony or xbox having the same setup, I don't think it would work nearly as nicely. That's why I like the smartglass, it doesn't feel forced.
Ok.. something nice about nintendo.....
They have some of the best vintage RPGs and action games ever to be released!!
Keep bashing Nintendo for their poor ideas and you can count me in Jess. Wait no, do whatever you like and I'll still watch you daily :D
As for a second screen devices, I still believe Microsoft's Xbox Smartglass is the way to go since it is compatible with most mobile devices (Android, iPhone, Windows Phone). It is cheaper for the console makers and we wouldn't need to pay for a mandatory second screen option since we can all use our own devices.
I know all won't necessary agree with me but I like the fact that my smartphone choice ( you know the device a lot of us use more than any other device in our life) doesn't impede my second screen readiness. I love my PS3 and my Xbox360 but the fact that any writing I need to do can be done by simply reaching for my phone instead a bulky controller makes me appreciate my Xbox more than my PS3.
That being said, game controllers are great the way they are and I have nothing to say to fuel the PS4/Xbox One war since I'm sure they'll both pull throught. :D
P.S. All I'm asking is for an app to control my PS and I'll be happy.
You are the last reason for me to stick with gamespot. Now only if you direct linked your videos on facebook.....
Oh Jess, you're adorable even when spouting hate. I can't argue about the 2DS, but the Wii U has a bright future ahead of it. :)
Cross platform play would be awesome playing vs. peasants would be just as fun as playing basketball against kids with developmental issues.
The N64 had a lot of good games and some of the best multiplayer I ever experienced back when people actually played together in the same room.
However that controller has not aged well and is an abomination to mankind. It needs to be killed with fire...lots and lots of fire.
I have to say I love my WiiU, probably will love my Xbox One a bit more though. I agree with what Sony says though, I don't always like the idea of looking down at my hands while playing but then again eye doctors everywhere say you should focus on something else other than your screen every 20 minutes when playing games to help reduce eye fatigue so why not another screen?!? Either way the WiiU is fun and with better games coming out it's not a bad low price system. However I do think when it comes to touch sensors Sony's idea may be a little more practical.
I'm very glad Sony didn't go down the Wii u style controller because, lets face it, that would have been shite! It would have been nice to see a new controller that was a bit bigger.
Hum say something nice about Nintendo...well i never had a 64, cause where i lived at that time, things were really limited, and over priced, although when i first saw mario 64, and the analog stick, i was blown away lol...hum i'd probably say that my gamecube is my most treasured nintendo console i have, it was the first console i actually had to work to get lol, and it got me some pretty neat game, the symphonia series, baten kaitos, viewtifull joe, eternal darkness, metroid prime, star wars rogue squadron, and so on...i really liked it, it was just too bad it got the "kids label" on it and didn't quite make it...but thanks for the good time while it lasted nintendo :P
Hi Buffy, you're tweet was right, great show today! I see the purple motif continues today. :)
The Brazil pricing situation is unfortunate and you have to credit Sony for directly addressing it and breaking it down. Now, if MS has taken my advice and put the 10 year olds in charge of marketing we hopefully won't have #dealwithit coming from them about X1 cost in Brazil.
I also like Sony's position on screens on the controllers. I test drove a Wii-U (did you know it's actually a unique product?) and ended holding up the controller in the way so as to not have to look down all of the time. I'm sure that some folks like the controller and it works fine for them and that's great. I'm just not one of them.
The iPad Air is interesting to me in that I think we're seeing where the MacBook line is going. I suppose you can pretty much say that about any line of laptops. Interesting times ahead in product design.
But.....but I like the 2DS......:'(
Favorite nintendo console? Probably the gamecube.
If Sony is truthful in their assessment of the price for the PS4 in Brazil then I don't feel disgruntled at them at all. That being said, I believe it is correct of them to work on finding ways to reduce the price of the console there.
Pikachu face was indeed slightly disturbing.
I have mixed feelings on the WiiU and Nintendo in general on one hand people do have a point about it not having enough good games yet. But on the other hand people are going way overboard bashing it. The main statement I hear is they arent doing what Sony and Microsoft are doing with their consoles. To me thats actually a weak argument. If all the consoles ended up being the same what would be the motivation in getting consoles at all? Why not just get a graphically superior PC...and this is another issue when you bring up Pcs to the WiiU Bashers they start talking about graphics not mattering...wha wait....which is it? First they say oh the graphics are the be all end all, then they say they dont matter. To me Graphics dont matter as much as gameplay, and Graphics on all systems have evolved to a point where they dont matter so much because its not the 90s with Snes and Genesis anymore where there was this Barometer that mattered. Now a days any attempt to measure systems in that way is ignorant because for the most part they have similar Ceilings graphically and theres really less incentive to upgrade hardware as much which is why this generation was so long to begin with.
The industry is in a weird place right now...the Big 3 better watch out that someone doesnt come in like Apple or Valve(or both) and take their market share. Cause it seems like everyone is afraid to innovate at the moment because its costly. Money is the biggest factor in why certain decisions are made. And it could be the fatal handcuffs that hold the Big 3 back and trigger the next big Video game Crash..
Seriously, if Nintendo kept the same philosophy behind N64, Wii U would have an x86 64 bit CPU, latest GPU and 8 GB Rambus RAM so that it can run any game at 1080p 60 fps.
Why don't Nintendo just do the obvious, Build a remake of the Nintendo 64. I want ocarina of time redone in ultra HD with new sound effects and better design!!! DO IT NOW!!!
Also, my grandma just pooped onto the neighbors cat. Time to lock her up again...
@elyzrrr I'm pretty sure it's just a new controller or something.
@eshtebala LOL, same here! Nice one, Jess.
@bigodedoido Yes, they were good.
@breadnmilk its not that its lame, just not worth it. Price, and only few games using it. Even Nintendo as of yet has not used it very well and its not used on may of their games. Which is why its a separate screen that can be played on.
@Swiftrunners please read the tos that you agreed to for using this website and cry elsewhere about how you cant be a jerk.
@IanNottinghamX For me the wiiU is basically a ipad with joysticks stuck on it and its not that portable.
I'm sure people will look at it in a different way when some decent NEW games come out that make full use of the system.
(and i'm not including wind waker because that was a GC title!)
@jimdove2 That's thailand you are thinking of... or typing of...
@KnowsNoLimits ,The vita isn't a required component of the PS4. It's just an add-on in that regard, unlike the Wii U's gamepad.
@joe_b1_kenobi Ergh, I don't, it's a joke. a series of jokes.
