GS News - MGS V Looks Better on PS4 + Titanfall WILL Require Origin
Titanfall fans will be stuck with Origin, PS4 users have login issues, MGS V: Ground Zeroes is tiny in length, but will it look better on PlayStation?
Just go make movies Hideo, Sorry, but that's what you want to do... You don't care about gaming anymore.
I would be sold on the PS4, if the console would let me stream video files from my computer.
If I want to watch movies or TV shows on my PS4, I have to pay for it!
That's a bullshit move that i'd expect from Microsoft.
The XBOXONE actually lets you stream video and audio files from your PC. But it looks like the XBOXONE has worst graphics.
You really can't win with either of these consoles.
First of all... Please name one multi platform that didn't look better on PS4.....
Titanfall: will be best on PC if anything... but I will never play it anyways....
Jess, I don't even know what to say. People are dumb as a rule of thumb. Origin is their service so of course they will use it. Anyway, I am starting to get concerned about the drop in quality in X1 overall. Crapstorm indeed. Thanks for the news, and I guess I'm getting a PS4 at Ground Zeroes Launch to be a companion to my X1.
On March 11th DARK SOULS II comes that's all. NOTHING ELSE IMPORTANT!!! Just kidding TITANFALL looks like a modern take on MechWarrior, with a sprinkle of COD/Mirror's Edge, I'll be getting it on the PC.
Origin was the obvious one since no EA released game will be on Steam ever again. That and the option to preorder the game has been available since last year on ORIGIN! As for the MGS news, it was obvious since its well known that the PS4 is the more powerful system and Konami has basically done PS exclusives for years and Kojima loves PS anyway, look at MGS4! I actually prefer Titanfall to have smaller gamer crowds because of the known limits of client based hit detection. We all know that the game will have client side hit detection, its a known fact that EA and Activision will subsidize the least costly options for gamers on servers anymore. So with a smaller crowd, it will mean the server will be able to more aptly provide proper packet data and will try to reduce the ever present packet loss in game, something Battlefield 4 has been having problems with since day one of the Beta release and still through to now in the normal release which to me is still a beta level product! Tell me who else agrees?
so basically from what i can tell this will be 1080p on ps 4 and 720p on xbone again lol. xbone will never catch up .This will be a common theme this generation well at least until 2-3 years till the pc goes so far ahead again that it wont matter (before someone says pc is already ahead, it isnt really that ahead in grand scheme of things),
@scarred_fox Looks like this will be the "Fall' of the "Titan" XD
It's just a joke, I don't have anything against TF
@HartPuncher You obviously don't understand why it is so short... It is just acting as a prologue for the PP. The reason he is releasing this is because the PP is taking so long to make. So he is giving us fans a taste of what is to come and he knows we have been waiting a very long time.
I couldn't agree more. Metal Gear Solid 4 was Kojima trying to make a movie, not a game; and a very bad movie at that.
Metal Gear Solid 4 had over 9 hours of cutscenes in total.
9 hours!!! WTF???
One cut scene alone is 71 minutes, which according to Guinness book of World record, is the longest cutscene in videogame history.
Playing Metal Gear Solid 4 was one of the worst gaming experiences of my life. I get angry just thinking about that God awful game.
@Zombie8814 Something wrong with just plugging in a hdmi cable from your comp to tv?
@Zombie8814 That's one of the many reasons people have been utilizing their computers for games, almost primarily, more and more over the last few years.
@Zombie8814 Can only stream videos to xbox one if using windows 8 media player. No other windows will work at the mo.If you're only worried about great games then PS4 is the way to go. I'm not too bothered about it's other capabilities as I have a PC's to everything else anyway.
@johnjcruz LOL! What a dumb thing to say! If gamers prefer Halo or Gears and soon to come out Titanfall than how can the PS4 possibly be the better system?.. You are obviously not a gamer and are only concerned "fast ram". Enjoy your PS4...obviously for all the wrong reasons but as long as it keeps you tweens quiet I guess that's good enough.
because brought wrong the box just to be a fanboy of a bankrupt company
@TheExxorcist Battlefield 4 on PC.
@MatthewSnyder86 Titanfall looks absolutely nothing like Mech Warrior, other than just having a familiar piece of machinery.
why would the xbox need to catch up the sony. bad business planning, microsofts makes money sony loses money I.E BANKRUPT COMPANY. so kep your playstation after the bottom is about to fall out of sony ride man.
@amar1234 A common theme? The consoles have been out less then 90 days. Really don't think we can have common themes yet. And you are dreaming if you think anything that comes out on either console now is a representation of what will be available in 2-3 years.
While the hardware stays the same.. developers will get improved dev kits, better drivers, and just plain learn how to more efficiently program for both of them.
Both consoles will be pushing 1080p/60FPS (when the developers think its necessary)
For both consoles now developers have had their kits less then a year. Xbox One developers have had them even less as Microsoft was slow to get them out, and the drivers are still not 100% up to snuff.
Consoles are always able to maintain a good competition level with PCs with more power because developers only have to develop for 2-3 systems, even better when its a console exclusive and development is focused just on that console and not a thousand different computers with all different CPU/GPU/and memory configurations. The PS4 and Xbox One will still hold their own 2-3 years from now.
It is also very possible that since both consoles now use a PC architecture that the PS5 and Xbox Next could simply be relatively the same console with Improved CPU/GPU and like 16GB of memory. Would possibly turn into a situation where future games would have a two settings.. one for current generation and one for next (similar to low and high settings on a PC).
@amar1234 Lol'd so much. A 3-4 years old PC is stronger than a "next-gen" console.
When they think it's necessary? Do you mean, when the consoles can handle it? As if it matters anyway. People reference the last generation here, but you'll notice that developers had to get efficient with that hardware just to keep up with the market - not make the games run better. They ran worse!
"Consoles are always able to maintain a good competition level with PCs with more power because developers only have to develop for 2-3 systems..."
It's not that way anymore. It took a year or two for consumer-available hardware and tech could beat out the previous generations of consoles, around 06 - 08. Now, my relatively inexpensive at the time, 2-year old computer already beats the consoles in performance by far. Now, people could buy $150 GPUs that beat the current generation of consoles, and there's also more software and game support than ever, not to mention ridiculously low game prices with all the distributor competition.
You think both consoles will suddenly push the same, modern 3D games at 1080p and at high frame rates? By what explanation? Certainly not the previous generation, which was unable to attain decent frame rates at the end of its life, and wasn't able to push new games with better performance. They were barely able to just push new games period, let alone do it suddenly with higher resolutions and rendering twice as many frames as years previous.
Games that are hardware dependent aren't going to improve in performance or resolution.
@matea88 @amar1234 ...so? The average consumer isn't going to pay $800 or more on a "next gen" console. That and both MS and Sony have shareholders that didn't want them to take a $200 hit per system as they did last gen. Regardless I'm happy with both new consoles. Both have their good points and both will produce very good games.
I know alot abou pcs mate, so your lol was dumbfounded. The reality is more than just hardware, its the API, software, and the end result. Im sorry if you dont understand that. The games on ps4 will look very similar to games on a decent $1000 pc that is running at 1080p also.
There is very little difference in polygon count , effects and textures from the PS4 version of games and PC version. Ofc you may be able to achieve something spectacular with $4000 pc, but that aint what im talking about, im talking about like for like so we compare graphics we get on a average gaming pc to the ps 4.. So think before you comment next time.
You CANNOT compare the hardware of a PC to hardware on a console as the API is very different whiuch is what i assume you did , the PC has alot of overheads, which demands extra power. The console is more efficient. So it will take some time before the average gaming pc will give us something remarkably better than the ps4 if you compare at 1080p. I dont see why why thats hard to understand.
Oh and i loled at you that you think a 4 year old pc is more powerful than a ps 4. Thast the dumb comment . So you think a 260 gtx is better than a 760? gtx?
what on games?? so do pc owners eventually, that not an argument... unless you pirate your games which further proves that you are a little kid who dont have the money for a console or a decent pc. Next normal working people find it a hell of alot easier to pay money slowly than all up front, why you think adults have credit cards?
/facepalm again, whats is wrong with you? I am a pc man, and i know for a fact that a mid range pc is not that far ahead in graphics of a PS 4.You are greatly exaggerating what developers are doing for the pc, they have the hardware but not the development.
in regards to your tomb raider question I said similar not exactly the same, thats why. Your probably full of bs anyway and didnt even test the fps of tomb raider, people like you often lie.
Next a 550ti is only 3 years old...
You think im talking out my ass when i tell you that all consoles and pc and ps4 version of games have the exact same polygon count, effetcs and textures. That makes you an idiot who doesn't actually play games on both systems then , as ask anyone whos played Skyrim on both systems what they think. That was 360 vs pc, and now the ps 4 is more powerful.
Seriously you are deluded if you thik the pc is "that far ahead" in graphics. It isn't. The pc has the "potential" to be more ahead and does have the higher "possible" resolutions . That's all.
Its hilarious that your argument as to why the pc is " 4 yeasr ahead" is that its can play games at 60 fps vs ps 45 fps? LOL what pc? and in 4 years all pc can do is add 15 fps? what where they doing in those 4 years??
We both trying to push our arguments but your argument makes way less sense the pc Is Not 4-5 years ahead in gaming rofl.
Have you even seen areal console ? have you actually played ps4 yet or you talking complete bs? you only have a $500 pc so my guess is you cant even afford a ps 4 lol.So unless you actually have a £2000 pc and a ps 4 like me, you can not compare with what i seen ye?
@amar1234 "The games on ps4 will look very similar to games on a decent $1000 pc that is running at 1080p also."
Please, explain, out of concept, how Tomb Raider is running at 1080p at 60fps average vs. PS4's 45fps average, with AA, on my $500 PC.
You're right about the API, in concept, but you describe the consoles' as more powerful than they actually are.
"Oh and i loled at you that you think a 4 year old pc is more powerful than a ps 4. Thast the dumb comment . So you think a 260 gtx is better than a 760? gtx?"
A 550 or 550Ti, 4 years old, is still playing modern multiplats better than the PS4. Unfortunate, I know, but that's the way it is.
"There is very little difference in polygon count , effects and textures from the PS4 version of games and PC version. Ofc you may be able to achieve something spectacular with $4000 pc..."
And that's where it's obvious that you're just reiterating, with hyperbole and exaggeration, all the random, shitty arguments between the platforms. Average gaming PC? Like, mid-tier or entry level? In 2013/14, that's a $200 270x, 760, 7870 etc. That's but a $550 - $650 build.
Granted, I've not gone into any depth either, but you don't "know alot abou pcs," mate. You have a cursory knowledge at best.
@amar1234 1080p is 1080p regardless of what system you play it on. The major advantage of a console is that the specifications of the games it plays are tailored to the console so in essence the game is optimized for it instead of visa versa. The PC however is designed to be optimized to the users preference and spending needs and wants so if I want an uber expensive full of bells and whistles I can have one. Its depends on what you want in the system you choose. The price point for a console is static within the release price range, so a PS4 will top out at 400 and drop and the XBONE will range from 500 on down plus any game exclusives the manufacturer releases with it or the seller adds also. These are strengths that both systems have. I prefer PC due to the fact that most games I like are optimized for my PC and I prefer a mouse and keyboard, which no console release ever has really optimized mouse and keyboard setups that I know of. If there is a first party option for a mouse keyboard setup, please let me know since a lot of my console games are collecting dust because I just don't enjoy playing them with a controller.
@amar1234 If I may say, nice to see some kind of common sense even if I dont agree on everything.. Its already a pain to see all the console 'fanboys' comments but the PC 'fanboys' are even more of a pain. Consoles and PC are just a different approach to gaming. I used to play on PC years ago but now a console is just more convenient for me and hassle free. Anyway the common arrogant 'smarter ass' behavior is pointless.
