GS News - GTAV Gameplay Trailer Incoming, Wii U is "Disappointing"
Grand Theft Auto V's first gameplay trailer is coming and EA COO Peter Moore sees the Wii U as a disappointment on today's GS News.
this girl has to be the most boring news caster in the world. i felt like i was at a funeral except at the part she said that guy passed away the lack of emphasis on her words is like shes a robot
Jess McDonell, doing all the news. She reminds me of Layla Kayleigh who did G4TVs gaming news. And the show THE FEED just wasn't the same without her. Without Jess, I won't give a crap about the news.
I know it's been said a million times, but as a Wii U owner it is frustrating that Nintendo dropped the ball with getting games released on time. It's nice hardware though and Miiverse is by far the friendliest online console community you'll find. Full of old school Nintendo fans like me.
I just hope they pull a 3DS and that 2014 & 2015 have a flow of software sufficient to make my wallet cry. Otherwise I'll be questioning whether to support their home consoles again.
Here is the thing about the Wii U, it's not that it's a bad console it's just focused on a different audience than that of the Xbox and Playstation for the most part. I for one was skeptical about the Wii U as first until i played it with my friends and it is an insane amount of fun. It's a console thats much more accessible to people who don't typically play hardcore games or any games in general so it works for all my friends. I'm glad I bought one for myself and can't wait to own an Xbox One and a PS4 because they all offer different key features. So instead of arguing which console it better or which one is "failing," just enjoy what each console can bring to the table.
Why does the description say that EA COO called the Wii U a disappointment, yet the url says "incoming-ubisoft-says-wii-u-is-failing"?
The Wii U is a great console, but no one seems to give it chance. Some people also think that the Wii U is an upgraded version of the Wii, and it isn't as it is actually way better.
I have had a Wii U since it was released and I like it a lot, but the original Wii which made NIntendo a lot of money seems to be a really crappy console that atleast to be it is.
Peter Moore the former head of Xbox thinks the Nintendo WiiU is struggling....that is not news....System's need games the Big N did not realize the time Hd games take...but last year the same was said for 3ds and now it killing it... and this time next year with a new zedla comingsoon and having , Mario cart, Zelda windwaker hd, pikman 3, wonderful 101, benetta 2, Smash bro, Mario 3d World....and then the sales will be good....
Automatically saw something was off about Jess. Usually she's very energetic in her reports. Was thinking she should have had some coffee or something before she did this news update. But now I see why. RIP good sir
Horrible reporting. had to listen to it twice because she spoke fast and had no delivery. RIP Ryan Davis
I can't believe Ryan Davis is gone. The days when he was here on Gamespot and "on the spot" was at its peak are one of my very best gaming memories. I loved those guys, and I'm so sad that he's gone.
The situation of the Wii U is very worrying, even for me as a long time Nintendo fan. Nintendo really need to get their act together on this one. More aggressive advertising, make sure people know it's the successor to the Wii not just another model (Wii U, seriously? What does that even mean?). They also need to dramatically overhaul their online system. Xboxlive and PSN have been around for ages now and they are a fantastic display of console online services done right, yet Nintendo just haven't paid even the slightest attention. A serious overhaul within the next year to bring it more inline with those two services is sorely needed.
An acheivement system might help as well, it's superficial, but still I want one.
@punisher1 your the piece of shit that was the only decent zombie game not that junk left for dead or dead rising also wtf hulk Hogan and your name punisher1 what are 13.
@anime_bankai I think like the 3DS it will just take time. Wonderful 101 marks the first truly anticipated game for Wii U, so I think that will set the benchmark for future Wii U releases. I bought a Wii U and currently I'm happy I can catch up on the Wii RPGs and Zelda games I skipped midst my misplaced hate of Nintendo at the time. I can't lie when I say I'm excited for "X" and Bayonetta 2. The fact that Ubisoft is on board with the Wii U is just icing on the cake in my opinion.
@ghstbstr I have one too and I also think it is great, a shame people think the number of processors and the ram is what makes a console fun... to sad
@ghstbstr I'm sorry. I don't see its greatness.
Can't be the games cause it hardly has any.
Hardware looks like last gen from 8 years back.
@logan7699 and here-in lays the problem and endless release of re-hashes and an arrogant attitude towards the changing trends of gaming. HD was big 5 years ago, like the transition from cathode TV's to LCD, HD is now the norm and no longer something to be promoted as a groundbreaking, in-fact the world has already moved on to 3D and soon 4k. The core concept/ sentiment of the Wii U is cool, essentially offering an alternative gaming platform but Sony and Nintendo have already got this covered with their support of indie developers, lastly Ninty still fail to offer a substantial online experience.
I think Nintendo are going to fail with the Wii U and the 3DS is keeping them going. Just.
@masterhound Former Gamespot employee and was most recently working with Giant Bomb. He appeared on multiple GS shows recently.
I think she is even more hot when she is sad, does that make me messed up?
@cursealoud the accent was fine..seriously....i am from a country where we learn and study English as a third language and i still got everything fine...
but yeah RIP Ryan Davis
@Gamerichard did you know him , then who cares there are billons of people out there and you know what most would walk right past you if you needed help so to me all that truly matters is my friends and family I sure aint going to cry like those dolfs after princes diane died they were nuts acted like the grew up with her or even 9/11 i remember being on the bus and some lady crying , wtf go cry for all the people who die every day in 3rd world countries from hunger or the women that get raped and it is there fault because they live in a disgusting $^#^ hole country. no more tears for strangers
@penpusher why do you want to buy the same console and experience 3 times every gen???
i think Nintendo is doing great, and they know what they are doing, but fanboys always talk like idiot parrots.
@penpusher The problem with the Wii U is that only gamers are buying it....the Wii its predecessor 20million + sold to gamers....the other 80million to nongamers....which is just a wildcard. Nintendo made a move that proved to be a sprinting beast short term..but this is a marathon and if Nintendo continues this way, they will go the way of sega....that's the path their own..don't take a genius to see that. They better change something...
@penpusher They keep pretending that they are on top of the world and they know better than everyone else... Really annoying. Wii U, what a joke, who came up with that name ? Because Wii was succesful with a crappy system that had a great return on investment they wanted to stay on that basis, without innovating on the design, not even to talk of the console's name .. They greatly rely on their well known franchise telling everyone : "it will work you'll see"
The most annoying thing is : i'll purchase one... Even if it's crap, their games are so good... What a waste... I hope i'll be the only one making that mistake till next time...
@Saketume @ghstbstr Xb1 and Ps4 have even less games than Wii U has. I don't care if they are not yet released, as of now that this discussion takes place, the fact and reality is that their library is extremely limited compared to that of WiiU.
Xb1 and Ps4 have superior hardware to WiiU. Please tell me how many times in the history of videogames has the "winner" been the one with the most powerful hardware (7th gen -> Wii, 6th gen-> Ps2, 5th gen-> Ps1, 4th gen -> Snes, 3rd gen -> Nes). Also, if you want to compare hardware, both Xb1 and Ps4 are considered low-to-mid compared to PCs right now, and it will only get worse with new hardware for PCs.
@raduz123 @logan7699 Part of why people were flummoxed when the Wii did so well was because many couldn't imagine a console not focused on online multiplayer and multiplatform first person shooters. I'm not convinced people buy Nintendo for the online experience. They have a solid business model which turned around the 3DS just fine. They can do the same with the Wii U. E3 was definitely a step in the right direction. From a personal standpoint (as someone who has played games since the original Legend of Zelda), I have more use for same-room multiplayer for friends and gatherings (Mario Kart and Smash Bros) than online capabilities. That said, I always offer my friends help on how to avoid shovelware and get the games that really show off what Nintendo can do. The Wii certainly had it's share of virtually unplayable games. Doesn't change the fact that Xenoblade and Last Story exist.
@SuperLegends @penpusher You obviously dont know why Sega failed, it all started by bad management of staff and projects and delivery time, then not saving money like nintendo have been doing during Wii's success, so no, Nintendo is no where near bankrupt or close to being similar to Sega as Nintendo have shown to know how to market their products well ALL of their products including games, there for you are wrong, no offense.
@SuperLegends @penpusher You're obviously not a genius then. Guess what Nintendo has more money than any of us could ever dream of having. They reported their loss in the company's existence two years ago. That's thirty years of success with one year of financial failure. If they're headed the way of sega (which they are not as sega was a horribly run business) then it'll take about forty years before they fall out of the console business.
@Yoeriman1 @e_rocket @ghstbstr Yes it can. The tablet is actually quit comfortable and fits nicely in a persons hands. But if you don't like it, there is the pro controller which is almost the same as an xbox controller with the exception that the the right joystick and button layout are swapped. But if that doesn't work, then there is still the wii classic controller that is like the PS controller with the exception of the 4 top buttons.
I was going to say a loser that lives in his moms basement but hey whatever works.
