GS News - Dark Souls II director explains accessibility
"I think that balance is something important" says Dark Souls II director, but upcoming RPG will maintain the difficulty level of the original.

I wish they could take the style and difficulty they have and put it in a game that's interesting to play.
I still need to play Dark Souls , I never got around to it, after getting ticked off about my Demons Souls information getting erased on my ps3.
Hmmm, looks like they removed the sun and moon insignia which was in the place of the humanity counter.
I've been following Dark Souls II and watching the gameplay demos and so far my expectations have been met. I really like that they finally made a fluid dual wielding combat system AND they're smoothing out all of Dark Souls' flaws like tedious back tracking and clunky menus.
@jecomans If you don't think Dark souls is interesting you either have bad taste or you simply havn't played it enough/right
@kiramasaki That sucks. You owe it to yourself to take that deep breath and dive back in, though. It truly is an improvement over Demon's Souls and that's something not to be said lightly in gaming circles.
@faceless-mask I don't think it was removed, it might be because it was a different class. Or it might be when you either need to get your souls back elsewhere after you died, you're cursed, or some new kind of affliction. It could mean you have some stronger power too.
@STrugglingFool I believe that the game will be developed on a PC and then ported for X360 and PS3
@Arcturuss Well know 3 months since that message, I've played Demon's Souls a couple times, and since playing that I've started to find Dark Souls much more enjoyable. I'm currently messing around before I go do the endgame. I still think Dark suffers for not having the hook that Demon's does. Once you're many hours in the pieces of lore start coming together, but the game doesn't even really have a point until after the second bell.
So yes, it was more that I hadn't played enough yet, nor felt the desire too. I think the game fantastic, but takes a few backwards steps from Demon's Souls along with all the improvements. I hope they get the balance right for DS2.
