GS News - Amazon Gets Into Games, How Can Xbox One Beat PS4?
Xbox co-creator says Xbox One can win the console war with a few steps, PS4 may be in for a slew of new features, and Amazon enters the gaming market!
Beat, in console war is so subjective. Even if they make more and "better" exclusives, its subjective to the individual.
The only thing I didn't like in this news is the chance EA might exist in 10 years I wish it died out years ago.
PS4 sucks. Just admit that your a Sony Sucker and move on...
Sorry that your mommy and daddy couldn't afford the extra $100 to buy you an XBONE.
Everyone knows what SONY stands for: "Soon Only Not Yet"
Please no one go out and buy the Fire TV. Buy a Wii U instead. Same streaming capabilities, with the addition of off-TV play via the controller. Then you have the first-party games. Amazon could buy whatever studio they want, yet they will still fail in comparison to Ninty's exclusives. Vote with your $. PS4 vs Xbone is getting tired and old, let us just wait for e3 to crown the winner.
Man! Enough with the XBone, PS4 comparissons.. it's all you ever talk about.
Stop feeding trolls in this senseless console wars and give us some real news!
sony people require updates on what xbox already has... seems as though they like the xbox things than the ps4 things...
Of course Xbox One can still win, the console has only been out six months. The Xbox 360 started a year ahead of PS3 and was physically kicking its ass for the majority of last generation and PS3 still caught up. When did people start being so impatient that they think 6 months is a long time? Neither console has any decent games right now. Titanfall and InFamous are a step in the right direction but InFamous was 90% visuals and Titanfall was an all online FPS so has its issues as well.
I've said the same thing about VR since I knew Rift was as thing. No way are families and groups of people going to spend nearly $1000 for headsets so that everyone can play a game using VR at the same time and that is if the consoles and PCs of today can handle it. I mean PCs are powerful but rendering a game at 1080p for six people independently seems like a hard task to ask for right now even if people have top end graphics cards which not that many people do, not Titans anyway which would probably require two or three of for such a task. A console has no chance. The VR headsets will be for core gamers only and I think that is why it will fail to meet its sales targets and die within the first year.
This Amazon device does look more promising than onlive, but we will see. I do not have any interesst of buying it right now
Great show. Thank you Jess. I pledge my allegiance to your show.
I'm sorry for those disrepectful and nasty comments on Friday.
I have post traumatic stress disorder and had flashbacks and horrible emotions eating me up. I'm very sorry.
It's great to post comments for the following reasons:
--It's healthy for for body and mind to communicate.
--It healthy to be a positive contributor.
--It's good for you emotionally and as a person to express appreciation.
--It great to show support for Jess and her show.
I pledge allegiance to the PC of the United Steam Users of 'Merica and to the Republic for which it stands. One master race under Gabe Newell for which we stand, indivisible, with Steam sales and humble bundles for all... lol
While I don't think Amazon's bid to enter the set top box/gaming device market is any threat to the serious consoles, PS4 and Xbone would crush these things for good if they offered a solid web browser and full support for USB devices and external hard drives. As is they're computers that don't do some basic entertainment functions, and there's no good reason why not. I do have a Mac and I only bought it to do what the consoles can't/won't.
Well, Minecraft is already on Android so not really a fair comparison to the Oculus deal :).
She should probably just stick with making fun of Mac from now on. Probably a lot less Mac fans around here than Nintendo fans. Although, being a superstar video production/editing/etc. guru, she probably loves FCP and all that. I guess that's fine since she was talking about gaming on Macs specifically :).
1.Both consoles will change and adapt, it is decent Sony are asking though. No point in features if nobody uses or wants them.
2.Amazon, good luck.
3.Neither console will 'win', they will both make a fortune and Sony will continue the tradition of outselling Xbox. Both will return next generation with another version.
For me I'd still just use my game console to watch all my movies and shows. Although Amazon is giving good value the product.
@cainetao11 yup,after all the Wii won the last generation of console wars based simply on units sold.
@jameshubert12 and anyone who bought a rechargeable battery pack for their XBone controller obviously likes PS4 things better and also likes to pay extra for them. To be fair, its not a PS4 thing, its a 2010's thing. I guess you could say its nostalgic to be plugging AA batteries into your wireless devices.
@nhall00195 ps4 sucks as well
@Dannystaples14 I doubt they can cram 1080 pixels into a small screen
@SaintsRowLA just keep taking the tablets
@crazywolf5150 *speechless* :o
I'm pretty sure we will no doubt see Minecraft on the rift now, it just won't be free. They wanted to make it for free to heavily support the hardware because it needed that support. Now it has the backing of a multimillion (if not billion) dollar company and doesn't need such a thing as much. I'm sure they will strike up a deal to get the game on it eventually though. It would be a damn shame if they didn't, that seems like the perfect game to utilize the hardware.
TOO MANY CHOICES!!!!!!
@LordCrash88 Not a console... just a streamer. Remember OnLive? This is just a cheap device to allow to you use an OnLive-style service (cloud-based gaming).
Who wouldn't want the ability to play high-end games for about $100? ($140-ish if you need the controller)
@LordCrash88 most of them are just low end PCs with branding.
@TheEternalGamer Not on camera, at least.
@wEEman33 Not as delicious, unfortunately.
@loops73 as if "Games with Gold" isn't a lousy imitation of PS+. And also, didn't you watch the whole "we need to do" list for MS to catch up with Sony? They need to do improve in around 6 key things that are doing quite poorly...
Both company copy each other on the other one's success, that's actually good for us the gamers! Competition is always good for the consumers so just enjoy as your gaming experience improve as they copy the best services around.
@loops73 You mean like how MS tried to copy PS+ but all they offer is 6 year old games while PS+ gives you hundreds of dollars of content in one month sometimes.
@ECH71 I think the games are not streamed but rather local. I believe the streaming they are referring to is media, like Netflix or Amazon's service.
@Juan1988 @loops73 Yea, but everything Sony has done with the exception of renting you games came from MS. Online service (MS), provide a place for indie to publish (MS hell they gave away XBLA kits in 2006) TV services (MS) Free to play (MS oh idk Happy Wars). I give credit where its due tho, Sony has the best PR team. They should really run for president.
@mkeezay22 @loops73 Which you lose the moment you unsubscribe from ps+.
Video game industry:
x copies y copies z. rinse repeat.
Both consoles are good, get over it.
@Cronyk This. The only genuine console that tried differently in recent years is the Wii.
@Cronyk PS4 is obviously better. Followed by Wii U and stumbling in a distant third xbox one
