Gaming Meme History - You Must Construct Additional Zerg Rushes
It's a StarCraft blowout on Gaming Meme History, as we take a look at the origins of the zerg rush and construct additional pylons!
I noticed in the last year everyone has been using the word meme... and it has been used incorrectly every time. The word 'meme' was coined by Richard Dawkins in 1976. Almost no one used it until it become a word attributed to the internet, pictures and apparently now gaming. Now it seems that everyone uses it but no one knows what it means.
If you are quoting the Urban Dictionary for definitions, then you are going to the wrong source.
And THIS is how you can tell a truly GOOD game from all the chaff. Strangely I could never get into playing as zerg... humies - ok, protoss - check, zerg? - uhhh, no.
Regarding the "kekeke" thing: I always thought it was from WoW... can't remember exactly which faction/race, but when one side writes "lol" the other sees it as "kek". But I guess WoW could just be using an already formed meme... they do have quite a few throw-backs to popular culture.
wasn't it "ZERG RUSH LOL" that became popular?
also, what about 'we require more vespene gas!' I have a friend who has it as a ringtone and it cracks me up every time.
speak your memes in a whisper quiet voice into my ear please, you ginger-tart. I want to have that accent for desert.
I 'd like to see a study on Win and Fail. These are not the same as simply succeeding and failing, and thus the terms are often used inappropriately. A good example of Win is that it is the stuff that must be gathered to perform a limit break. On the other hand, Fail, when collected in sufficient quantities, is capable of breaking reality in unexplained ways and foiling any possible attempt at success. I want to hear more on the subject.
Actually, "kekekekkeke" is a japanese laugh.
It is widely used in a lot of animes, where characters laugh out load with "kekekekke".
I'm guessing it's their version of "lolololololol"
what about the pilon song????
best mix ever!!
" kekekek" Came from the korean players who were frequently paired up with American players back in the day. It was pretty much the only thing we could understand from them.
Classic. I forgot how much Starcraft has contributed to modern culture T-T , oh the days spent ga.... *You have not enough minerals* f***!
YEAH. This is the type of quality I like to see coming from gamespot. Lol I love memes xD xD xD pls mak more pls xD
You must gather your party before venturing forth.

Soon at the intro when it changes the camera to a SC2 gameplay and Jess was still talking, I'd swear it was not Jess but the female AI operator... it matches perfectly the sweet but bold feminine voice.

@AireeeZ "Do a barrel roll" I think that one still works.
@edhc44 @amdreallyfast What? I wasn't attempting to be funny. Mildly amusing, perhaps, but my point was that the two terms had their own viral moments, after which they became diluted and often used inappropriately. More than one definition of "Fail" on the Urban Dictionary describes the term as being overused by people who don't know how to use it or can't think of a better term. I think that it would be interesting to hear how the terms were used when they started to become popular.
That one took some effort.
First I went to www.google.com/ncr just to be sure I wasn't hindered by the localized google.se
Then I had to turn off the automatic completion and even after that it took a few tries. It does work though.
@AireeeZ google docs open a new spreadsheet (blank or whatever) then press SHIFT+F12
see what happens
