Ive played countless times REmake but never tried the original on PSX and these vids make me glad I havent. No need of cardboard dialogues that makes you laugh to disrupt the immersion and great atmosphere REmake has.

@GamerOuTLaWz Well I think you may hate the orginal ... but I remember in 1996 it was really new and even with the bad dialogue it was scary and some part were very hard if you didn't save your ammo. Also, if you did the mansion in a different way, you got different cut scene.

And you know ... it is a great game even if it is funnier than it is scary and tense. immersion and atmosphere isn't always a necessity.

@GamerOuTLaWz Quality will never replace originality, uniqueness. Play the game, if its about something you truly like (im assuming you like resident evil as a franchise), you wont regret it.

It has the famous, sentimental value.

@jimrhurst @2bitSmOkEy I think a lot of it is down to really bad translation from the original biohazard coupled with what was kind of industry standard for zombie movies at the time. My favourite bit is still the keeper's diary you find.

There was some fantastically awful voice acting in that game alright! I also used to get a good laugh out of the live action opening cinematic where they are all turning to the camera striking a pose!

Actually that whole live action bit at the start is hilarious!

I didn't thought it was a meme but I remember laughing at that line and other very bad dialogue but still it was kind of new at that time and outside of that bad writing and acting that game is still a classic of the Horror genre ...
