You've bought your brand new Xbox One or PS4, but it's so confusing! How do I do the thing with the stuff and make the wotsit play nice with the thing-a-me-jig??! Relax, GameSpot is here to help, with this series of helpful how-to videos.

BTW for anyone that doesn't know, SmartGlass runs on desktop/laptop Windows 8 as well. I'm guessing a lot of people have a PC near where they play Xbox and it's convenient to have a large screen for things like looking at a map.
I recall that several months ago, Mark railed at Microsoft Xbox for (now-shelved) policies on its next-gen product. Now, he's talking about using SmartGlass with the Xbox One.
Heh-heh, how times change. :P
The companion features could be fun in time, but the remote seem redundant, since you probably have the controller in your hands already. And if you have a tablet by your side, why would you want to surf the web one your Xbox anyway?
SmartGlass doesn't look that great but I guess it is a good feature to have.
Hopefully they use it more later on
@hrcules The larger screen would be the draw for me (old eyes).
@hrcules One thing it's useful for is text entry.
