If you can get your hands on Valkyrie Profile, you won't be sorry you did.
The combat system is fun and different, but the PWS (combo) system tends to get repetitive as you see the same moves pulled off over and over while you sit through the special attack sequence. Other than that, pulling off the combo's perfectly is very rewarding.
The world is vast, and the dungeons are puzzling and fun to explore. By using Valkyrie's power, you search the world map for new areas to explore and characters to recruit to your leader's army.
The story is very well done, voice acting included, and the graphics for the console are superb. You play as the Goddess Lenneth Valkyrie, sent to the human world by your leader Odin. Your job is to recruit powerful human souls worthy of being in rank of the Gods. Lenneth has a power to hear the cries of a powerful human near death, and uses that power to seek them out and recruit them.
All in all, If you can find it, I recommend it highly.
