User Rating: 6.4 | Unreal II: The Awakening XBOX
This game is preety much all copied from the PC version, but the extra thing that they added for the Xbox was Xbox Live support which adds more multiplayer options to this version of the game, but is it all that great? Read below. The single-player campaign is boring and you can finish it in about six hours. On the PC version there was three difficulty settings, in this one there is only two which are normal and hard. After you start the single-player campaign you will probably want to stop playing after an hour or so, because it's so boring, there is NOTHING really fun in the single-player. If you play the single-player campaign on normal difficulty, it doesn't really seem it's normal, it seems more like easy to me. Xbox Live support is an addion, but one thing here is that you can only play up to 12 players online or in System Link, and 12 players maximum aren't enough people for a match. Xbox Live is less boring than the single-player campaign, but it is still boring. But the most disappointing thing about this game is that the PC version of this game wasn't that good of a game either but the PC version of the game had excellent graphics, Xbox supports even better graphics, but they have the opposite, they made the graphics of the Xbox version of this game a lot worse than the PC version of this game. I mean look at the character models in this game, they look poor! By looking at these graphics, this doesn't even look like an Xbox game because the graphics are so poor. Oh, and what about the long loading screen, which is already a proof that this game runs very slowly. So preety much the addion to the Xbox version of this game is only Xbox Live support (witch doesn't work all that well). So the Xbox version of this game takes the best aspects of the PC version, weakens them by leaving the game not as good as it should have been. In the end I have to say that this game is the biggest disappointment I have seen so far this year. There are lots of others and better alternatives already available, so don't waste time with this game! If you want a EXCELLENT Unreal game, with Xbox Live support (which works much better than this game), go play Unreal Championship. Oh, and read my review for Unreal Championship and compare it to Unreal II: The Awakening.
