Great game, highly recommended, Naughty Dog does not disappoint and deliverers.
If there is one thing I like most about Uncharted 3, or the whole series in general, is in fact the story. Drake set's out on an adventure to search for the lost city of Ubar in the Arabia desert, believing to be a city of immeasurable wealth. The ring that Drake carries around his neck is believed to be the key to finding the lost city. As always trouble seems to find Drake wherever he sets out so the adventure is never dull.
The voice acting is incredible, as you truly feel these characters interacting with each other and sharing their own sense of humor. Half the time when I play this game I almost feel as if i'm watching a movie, it seems rare to see that kind of interaction between characters in video games today.
Outstanding visuals is always a must and Naughty Dog has you covered. The visuals in this game are pushed beyond what I thought was impossible on a console, bringing all of the Playstation 3 visuals to their limit. The use of the lighting visuals and character models is amazing and always seems to go beyond my expectations.
Obviously gameplay is an important aspect of any game, the controls feel very smooth and aiming is spot-on. Going from stealth to all out action to solving puzzles, keeps the player focused and entertained as it keeps the game from becoming too repetitive. Also an improved hand to hand combat system allowing more ways to take down your opponent, using the environment around you to choose how you want to defeat him. My personal favorite is hitting my enemy in the face with a fish in the market area.
As far as online goes I only have one minor complaint and that is you are required to enter an online pass code to play online, restricting online play to your console only. It's a bit of a letdown for anyone who might want to buy this game secondhand and not be able to play online or perhaps play this game with a friend at his or her house. The online is great however, with a number of different competitive game modes, and co-op missions to play with your friends, as you complete competitive matches or complete co-op missions you will making progress on improving your online rank. As you earn a higher rank you will unlock different weapons and perks for your character.
Overall I give this game a 9.5 out of 10. Epic adventure, great storyline, impressive visuals, and outstanding voice acting. Good job Naughty Dog.
