Great fun, great times, great game!

User Rating: 9.2 | Twisted Metal World Tour PS
This game is by far the best in the series to appear on the Sony Playstation, and overall can only be topped by Twisted Metal: Black. What an amazing game this is. Sure, if you've played the newer games the control response is a bit clunky and graphics pixellated...but back then it was a pure masterpiece with some of the best single and multiplayer gameplay around. It is a just plain fun game!

This game is basically vehicular combat wrapped up in a story-type package, if you follow it. The story is unique for each player and done quite comic-book style...and it works rather well. The combat mainly consists of a series of 'deathmatch' style battles against computer or human opponents in different venues/back grounds. These range from Hollywood highways to NY skyscrapers to glaciers to paris...many to choose from there, each with their own tactics and strategies to employ.

There are multiple 'cars' or 'people' depending on how you look at them, to choose from. Each have their own attributes such as armor, power of special weapon, speed, etc....and they actually balance it well. For example, the smaller vehicles are fast but usually have a strong special attack...but weak armor also....whereas the bigger, heavier armored vehicles take a lickin', but are slow with a mid-range special attack. In the end, as you gain experience, you can be great with just about anyone.

Multiplayer is a blast. Fond memories exist for me and my cronies with regards to multiplayer back in the college years. Haveing a whole group sit around and play, winner stays on unless too long a streak got going--man was it a blast. Highly recommend that!

With great gameplay, enough hidden things and secrets to unlock (hint: they knew you'd be falling in New York--look for codes as you plummit to your doom!), and great multiplayer and stories...this is a highly recommended addition to a collection.
