Tomb Raider rebooted. I think that it got a lot better, in all aspects.
To the matter at hand:
The Tomb Raider series is excellent in every way possible, the gameplay, story, the lead heroine and so forth. With this reboot, I feel that Tomb Raider has reached new heights, "gone" is the old Lara that everyone knows and loves, and instead we get a younger and more unexperienced Lara Croft, who in my opinion, is better. I felt that the original Lara were too thin, she were like a barbie doll in physique. Therefore I like the new Lara, she looks more normal, I also like her new hairstyle.
Going to stop rambling now.
Lara Croft, the new Lara is radically different from the "old" Lara, she isn´t as thin, she does not do acrobatics, but instead she is more realistic, she shields herself from danger using her arms, groans when she falls or jumps from a height too high, a more human Lara, the "old" Lara were nearly unstoppable, rebooted Lara is not. The new Lara does not dual wield either, you get to actually aim instead, so no more lock-on. I feel that it is quite hard to aim with a controller, but that adds to the overall experience instead, Lara is not an expert when it comes to firearms, or at least not at first. You feel the terror she feels when trying to aim during a shootout.
She has also gotten pants, something she needed, running through the jungle in short-shorts cannot be comfortable.
I have some really small complaints though, when you jump and should miss the jump she sometimes "glides"(or even double jumped once) to reach the ledge or whatever you wanted to reach. It does not occurr so often so its not a reason to pull down the grade, I would also have wanted more multiplayer modes, but that is not a reason to pull down the grade either, the multiplayer were confusing at first but it works great after learning and is great fun.
I like the new Lara and I wish her to stay, this is the best and only reboot she will ever need.
Sorry if its messy, my first game review. :D
