User Rating: 9.2 | Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow XBOX
The official review as well as the featured reviews describe this game rather good. It is an immersive type game that you will enjoy if you like to take your time. All that relates to ambiance is exceptional; lighting, sounds, pace... I now have played both SC on XBOX, PS2 and PC with great pleasure. By far I must say may favorite game. On the PC I would give 10 to SC:PT and 9.7 to SC. On the PS2 well it was very tight, sometime the game's graphic would be choppy. The XBOX is far better than the PS2. It a strong 9.3. One area of improvement (on console) is the game save scheme with checkpoint that I do not like on the lower difficulty level. On the higher level it is fair since true gamers want a challenge!!! ;) Max payne 2 has a great way were quick save is allowed only on lower difficulty but not on the hard-boiled which makes for a great challenge. It also cuts replay value by not allowing you to try a different approach than the safe one. The level are already linear enough that you need some freedom to try the few things that could be different like entering the TV stations yard (between the dialog on blind sniper because of lightning and the entrance to the tunnel) from the front instead of over the broken fence at the end. That is great to try but will lead to many restart without quicksave or more checkpoints. On the PC you can play this game a few times and still discover a lot. On the console, the second time goes thru rather quickly if you do it exactly the same as the first. One item that is exceptional on the XBOX version is the responsiveness of the controller, absolutely just right. So many game you either run or stop, this gradually accelerate so good. BUT it is still the best if you like stealth, wow. great Wish we had more of these games.
