With great graphics and a cool co op mode the third entry to the Splinter Cell series is worth playing.

User Rating: 9.4 | Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory PS2
Sam is back in the third game in the series, Splinter Cell Chaos Theory. This game is great improvement from the second one. It has new features, and the same Splinter Cell action gamers want.

The game has Sam on an ordinary mission where he is to rescue a kidnapped computer engineer. This would eventually reveal a lot of conspiracy and end in war. The game features the almost the same thing from the previous two games in the series. The new features in the game are better graphics, smarter AI, Sam gets to use a new knife, and a cool new co op mode (which I will get to later).

The graphics on the PS2 version (which I’m reviewing) isn’t as great as the X box and PC versions. Heck the Gamecube version’s graphics are almost rank the PS2’s. Well anyway the graphics are a big improvement on all versions. Compare screenshots of the first game to Chaos Theory and you’ll see what I mean.

The AI is really smart. The enemy will work in teams, call for help, and really give you a hard time. When the find bodies which you have disposed, they will immediately sound the alarm and keep a good look out for any trouble. So hide bodies really well. Don’t even try to whistle for if they hear you whistle more than three times they will follow the sound and eventually catch the sneak.

The best new feature in the game will have to be, no not the knife, it’s the new co op mode. This new mode lets you play in two player split screen so have a friend over and play spy. What makes the new feature cool is that you can perform various moves with each other (no not those moves). For example, you can lift your friend up for him to reach the ventilation shaft. There are lots of various moves you can perform and you can find them in the manual. The only problem with the co op mode is the campaign. Well it’s pretty short and boring.

In conclusion, the game has great graphics, smarter AI, and a cool new co op mode. Oh yeah and the knife. The game also features Pandora Tomorrow’s fun multiplayer, Spies vs. Mercenaries. Though there is not that much new to the game I still recommend it.
