A great time-killer on a rainy day.

User Rating: 7.8 | The X-Files PS
The X-Files is an unusual little game. It's made up entirely of live-action graphics, a freaky musical score, lots of suspense, and some brain-melting puzzles. And when I say "freaky musical score", I mean the kind that will burn in your mind for months after you finish the game. Even the non-threatening stages are made dark and creepy.

The plot and writing, coming from around the time season 3 was airing, are as sharp as your average season 3 episode, if we exclude the fact that Mulder and Scully don't appear until late in the game. Also, the pace is a little lagging (not to complain that it takes a while to get to a shootout). These are minor flaws, however, and the X-Files remains an underappreciated, quick enjoyable experience for the PS1.
