Apparently English people don't understand why this is a Hit-Russian game.
Gameplay is essentially a classic shooter game that makes it fun, think DOOM 2 or nineties shooters, you see the enemy you shoot it, enemies run at you or stay there, you shoot it! Very simple and fun, just perfect. Why do you need a good AI if all you are interested in is shooting them, so gameplay alone gives this game a good score.
Storyline is you have to save Stalin from a turbulent plot to kill Stalin. You utilize Metro-2 at the beginning of the game to get to Stalin. This is where people get lost in storyline usually, because it is assumed by the game that you know all about Metro-2 and the legends behind it. In short, when Stalin built the Moscow Metro he also built, Metro-2, a secret Subway for use by the KGB and Stalin only! Some people say that this secret subway is even bigger and elaborate then Metro-1, a whole underground labyrinth beneath Moscow. So the KGB is plotting to kill Stalin and you, a simple KGB lieutenant must reach Stalin first.
Some of the translation is a little rough and some of the levels got me so confused that I had to liberally use the "Noclip 1" cheat to get through some levels, but I only did this because I have so much fun shooting in this game.
If you wanted a game with super physics! Tactical Squad Combat! Super Intelligent AI! Realistic Effects and Graphics! then this game is not for you. If you want a nice pleasant game with awesome soundtrack then please play Stalin Subway! I am starting its sequel soon!
