Gets old fast

User Rating: 5 | The Sims Social PC
Sims social conforms part of a new generation of video games bent on taking advantage of social media sites, it is a game designed to get you hooked, it's fun at first, giving you enough to make keep you occupied but as you advance in the game you come a crude realization- it's not meant to be free.
Sims social is the kind of game you would not really expect to pay for, but of course and in all due right, the people who made it do.
Being fair there is a lot one can obtain in the game as a free player, if you are a patient player, have simple tastes and have plenty of sim friends who are at the ready to send you the gifts you might need to expand your land or buy that beach house or build that extra room.
The core of Sims social lies in socializing, and it's actually a fun way to bond with your friends online, and if you wish to get far in the game that will actually be a requirement as the game quests will frequently demand will be constantly sending you to other sims to ask them things or to request gifts from them.
The Quests in general revolve around asking something, looking for something in the computer or purchasing an item from the shop, there is little variety and it really gets old fast.
Character customization is simple but it does bring some interesting and fun effects when you begin to add traits which may take a while to earn, and which are supposed to affect the way in which you socialize with other sims though at the moment, and aside from some effects provided by my ninja trait, Ive really not seen much difference in the way other sims behave around me.
Evolving in the game is slow due to the fact that you have limited amount of energy available, and recharging is slow.
Another highlight of the game is the way you can customize your living area, and Sims social spares no expenses on this; From Yoga mats to disco balls, plasma television to time clocks, fish tanks to a wonderland trees. Styling your crib to be the envy of others will take your undivided attention, so long as you are willing to spend money ( and I mean real $ ) to do so.
In spite of its many good assets and unless you are the willing and able to spend money for items you'll never actually own, you'll be likely unable to find enough content in Sims to keep you interested.
