A funny version that seems almost exactly like the console versions.

User Rating: 8 | The Simpsons Game PSP
THE GOOD: Funny Story, Great graphics, Homer has awesome powers, cool cameos, the cut scenes are hysterical, Lot's of homages for fans of the show.

THE BAD: Very short and easy, other family members powers are dull, collectibles are the only replay value.

THE UGLY: The camera, the special prize for collecting all the cliche's is a cliche'.

This was my first game for the PSP, and so I could see it's capabilities, I bought I game that I owned both a console version (on Wii) and a hand held version. (on DS.) I found I drew more parallels to the Wii version than the DS version. The whole thing takes place in a graphically vivid 3D environment, and more of the cut scenes humor is preserved.

The sound, of course, is solid, thanks to the voice acting of the regular cast. Their quotes are hysterical, especially in the cutscenes, whose story involves the characters realizing they're in a video game. The cameo's are great as well, from Will Wright to Kelsey Grammer to Matt Groening.

The gameplay is okay, not that inspired, but okay. The difficult thing is the camera, which can be annoying. Shrug that off, and you'll be okay. Until you finish the game, when you realize there's nothing to do. The only replay values are the cliches and the collectibles, which unlock trophies. Half inspire a chuckle, and half are just products with a Krusty face on them. The reward for getting all the cliches is another cliche, with comic book guys signature "Worst (blank) EVER!" quote. Don't bother.

All in all, the Simpsons game for PSP does a great job on bringing a console game to the portable system. The game feels exactly like the Wii version, minus the poor remote flicking gimmick. At the least, a rental.
