As far as games based on movies go, The Two Towers does the epic its based on justice. Its certainly one of the better movie-licensed games out there. But one can experience all that there is to experience in Two Towers very quickly. The game is based on events in Fellowship of the Ring and Two Towers. So its a given that there will be spoilers. The cutscenes are taken from the movie, but transform into in-game engine cutscenes in a very impressive manner. You choose to play as either Aragorn, Legolas or Gimli and hack your way through countless orcs and Uru-kai. The game is, at heart, a slightly more fleshed out beat-em-up. All three characters can throw some form of projectile be it arrows or small axes. You can also use experience to learn new attacks and abilites. The game uses both the music and the voices of the actual actors so its definitely authentic. But the game isn't terribly long. Its very possible to beat it in a sitting. Of course you can try beating it with all three characters for three different experiences but even that won't take long. You can unlock interviews with Peter Jackson and most of the actors from the movie, but all they talk about is how great the game is. Ummmmmm... Its hard to recommend something that can be beaten in such short time. Diehard Rings fans will buy it regardless of what I say and they'll like what they say. But everyone else can experience the Two Towers video game in a rental.
