EA should have continued on LOTR: White Council instead of approving of this.

I bought this game right after it was released, in hopes of finally playing an LOTR game that captures the scope of the battles in the movies and books.

Nope. Instead we get shallow skirmishes and half-baked campaigns with maybe 25 or so opponents on the map at a time.

Now, sure the graphics are quite decent, but that is almost the only saving grace for this game (?). Graphics matter not, it's the gameplay that counts, and this game does not deliver. The combat system is atrocious, with only the Warrior class being any decent in terms of combat flow and usefulness. The Scout and Mage classes are pointless to play yourself, just let the AI (if you could call it AI) handle the responsibility. On the other hand, the Archer class isn't THAT bad, but the Warrior is still more useful.

Now for the heroes, and the crap used for the models. I'm not sure if Pandemic used low-res face textures for the purpose of the consoles, but they look like something you would see in a 4-5 year old game. You also have the over-the-top, uber hero attacks which destroy whatever semblance of balance the game hopes to put forward.

I must admit though, that the graphics (except the face models) and ideas for this game are good though.

Do as I did, return the game if you bought it.

EA is reaping what they have sown by abandoning a gem like LOTR: White Council for this... um... game.
